Eric, I know that you are an admin coach, so I thought I would ask you, is there anyway for myself to clean up the backlog that is always piling up at AFD/Old? I wasn't sure if I had to be an admin to do so. Also, how else can I help out as far as deletion or wherever needed? Thanks! Stubbleboy 21:31, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for the quick response. I've also downloaded Vandal Fighter 3 which is also keeping me busy! I wish I had a way to quickly rollback to the last revision, would make the process faster. Stubbleboy 22:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there!

Hi there Eric. In case you haven't figured out already, I am one of Abbopa's friends. Thanks for the welcome! Talk to you again soon! Weird Wetland 01:59, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, please send another message to Weird Wetland. Guess what? It's my birthday today! I'm at my friend's house having brunch right now, I've been there since about 10 this morning. Abbopa 18:50, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How can I add a page for EnableMart

WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 21:25, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please unprotect Trinity School at River Ridge for me? There was some IP vandalism a long long time ago, I thought it got unprotected, guess not... Thanks, Zapptastic (talk) 21:28, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Making articles easier to read

Hey Eric, I was just wondering, is it possible to make all the articles more "kid friendly language" (language that kids would understand). I have a cousin who is eight, and he wants to read wikipedia articles, but doesn't understand most of the words. Abbopa 03:30, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Simple English

Thanks a lot for your help, Eric. My cousin really appreciates it. Abbopa 04:22, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Howdie

How's things? I was just wondering how back-to-active are you at the moment? Basically would you like to take over co-ordinating the admin coaching? I'm not really able to give it enough time.

Hi! I'm kind of semi-active at the moment. I don't think I have enough time to take on another coachee, much less coordinate the program. I may have more time in a couple months. Perhaps Titoxd would be interested in taking up the reigns again? If not, I imagine we may be able to find a new person. EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 05:25, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, no problem. I also deleted the user page they had set up, which was basically a subtle attack page. Sorry to hear you've apparently attracted someone's ill-placed energies, and keep an eye out for more imposters. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you in the future. Cheers, EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 00:59, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stellenbosch University page

Hello Eric The information currently on the page for our University, regarding the language policy is blatantly untrue and actually not a nutral point of view at all. My changes to the page was our official statement regarding the language policy and therefore not re-writeable in my own words. We cannot allow such nonsense to be on the web about our academic institution. If the University is not allowed to state it's official point of view, we will have to ask you to delete our page. I will now delete the information that is untrue and trust that you will leave it as such. Thank you Regards Lize Web Editor Stellenbosch University --Lize e 12:01, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin coaching

I'd please to continue the coaching, although I don't have regular access now - more importantly I'm periodically blocked since I have floating IPs. --Deryck C. 09:06, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature:
Admin Coaching
(needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider
signing up to be a coach
.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The
Tutorial Drive
is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of
    proposed programs
has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the
    Tutorial Drive
! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

User Downwards is out of control

Hi Eric,

User:Downward is not being Wikifriendly at all. See his comments on his edits. I've linked several pages below. He is also not following the 3-revert rule and on very petty issues. He has already been given an Npa2 and Npa3 (the 3 by me) on his Talk page. Downwards essentially seems to consider WP his domain and seems to consider it an offense if anyone changes edits he's made. Is there anything that can be done?

In the above instance, he didn't agree with the vote and has disregarded it. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Erick_Barkley&action=history http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=John_Salmons&action=history
