Re: Amazons

Yes, I know about the reference. There are some books however that point out that not only is the name Amazon of Scythian-Sarmatian origin, but that the Greeks did get the idea from a tribe of warrior women who are believed to have lived around the Black Sea region from the Caucasus to the Ukraine. That reference is perhaps a poor one for this particular situation though as Kimball doesn't believe that the Amazons are linked to them whereas other academics do. Hmm, yes you raise some valid points. I re-worded it so as to mention the theory and not leave it as definite that they are the same warrior women of Greek legend. Let me know what you think and I'll change it more if it does not appear viable. Tombseye 16:27, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I dropped a line to a friend of mine who is an admin. to see how the main page can be changed. I personally have no idea! Hopefully it'll get taken care of. Ciao. Tombseye 17:32, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sól (Norse mythology)

Hi there. I removed the PROD that you placed on the above since it is not an article but a redirect. Take a look at

WP:RFD#How to list a redirect for deletion if you still feel that it should be deleted. I have no position or opinion about it. This is just procedural. Cheers. --Bardin (talk) 11:41, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply

I see. Thanks --Echosmoke (talk) 11:46, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:33, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vomitoria

Why do you think the item does not meet the new criteria? One source uses the exact phrase "common misconception"; the other source calls it a "popular misconception". Vomitorium has a Wikipedia article, and the misconception is mentioned there. And even though Roman vomitoria are ancient, the misconception is held today. What's the problem?
