Hi, re 95.91.4.201 (talk) I just went straight in with a 31-hour block and no warning, based on what I saw as an ongoing activity: not one of their edits were constructive, many of them were to the same small group of pages, and the latest was a minute or so before I went for the "block" link in their contribs. I've sent an email to [email protected] about a photo petergarrett.jpg which I added to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Garrett. I understood this to be the correct procedure but was alarmed by your 'grumpy' statement

I am the owner of this photo, although not the creator. The creator gave this photo to me for use by me - including on wikipedia.

Why did my polite response to you get such a rude response back? I am learning and trying to follow Wikipedia rules, but am really concerned about the fairness and accuracy of this Wikipedia entry. I don't want to engage in a war with anyone, and have every intention of sticking to the rules. But if content is misleading and inaccurate, I do intend to try editing it. Hello, you removed the information about a Spiritualist organisation from a list of such, as are the rest of those in the same list. I was just wondering what the reason was to make this inappropriate, as the other organisations are in the list. Not moaning, I really do wish to understand, as I am looking at providing information about the organisation to Wikipedia, and want to get it right.

Speedy deletion of images uploaded by me.

Hi, Eeekster. I have received your message about speedy deletion of the following files :- 1.) File:MumbaiMarineDrive.png 2.) File:RajpathNewDelhi.png 3.) File:TheStatueOfUnity.png Also about these images are free or not :- 4.) File:ShivSenaFlag.png 5.) File:Nokia Lumia 930.jpg

The file 5.) has been just edited by me using

. The file 4.) is one of the two symbols used by the Indian political party Shiv Sena. This one is occasionally used. The files 1.) 2.) and 3.) are downloaded from the internet and slightly edited by me.

I tried searching all over the internet for appropriate sources for getting these images' licenses or to prove that they are free. But I couldn't. However, I have claimed these images as my own work but have placed it under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication license and hence, do not reserve any further rights over these images.

I agree for speedy deletion of these files as I have failed to prove them free and have not found a reliable source for getting the license of these files. But, could these files be made legal in any other way? As I have given much of my time for these edits and I'm really feeling bad for these files being deleted. And in the future I'll not upload files without proper licensing. And I would not like being barred from editing as I have provided a lot of information in many important topics with proper citations and I'll further continue to contribute in the same way. - D'pak HKadam (talk) 06:47, 19 July 2014 (IST)

Just wanted to respond to the note about this file. As far as I know this image was licensed CC-BY-SA and has been shared to journalists and other sources for publication. The original was taken by Metadesign as a part of the Inktank branding exercise and was ours (Inktank's) to license. Please let me know if there is something else we should do to prove the origins of this image and ensure that Wikipedia's chain of custody remains clean. Thanks.
