Logical quotation

Hello EmilyWilson2. Welcome to Wikipedia! Just wanted to drop a quick note about quotation on Wikipedia since there seemed to be some confusion at

MOS:LQ says: Include terminal punctuation within the quotation marks only if it was present in the original material, and otherwise place it after the closing quotation mark. This may be different from the style you are familiar with, but it is nonetheless the one that Wikipedia follows. Feel free to respond here if you have any questions. Cheers. Okay, I was trying to help, but if there is another format you prefer, I will stop. Sorry for the inconvenience! EmilyWilson2 (talk) 21:13, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, Emily! We love it that you want to help, and we're glad you're here. Sometimes it takes a little while to figure out that another editor is trying to contact you. At the very top of the page, you'll see a bell icon. If it's got a number on it, someone's pinging you to a discussion or has left a message on your talk page. Awwww thank you! I felt bad yesterday for being a nuisance rather than a contributor. I found the emails asking me to stop or be blocked and I was surprised. (Oh no!) I truly thought I was helping. I have read the formatting info and see now that this is a style that’s new to me. I’ll resist fixing what is not broken! Thanks for the welcome!! EmilyWilson2 (talk) 15:19, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Emily. If you're looking for ways to contribute, a good way to get started is
WP:SPELLING first, I made mistakes in the beginning because I didn't realize the differences between American English and British English and when to use each.) Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 15:30, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply
