Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth

Lieutenant General in the British Army, held a Scouting encampment on Brownsea Island in England. Baden-Powell wrote Scouting for Boys
(London, 1908), partly based on his earlier military books. The Scout Movement of both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts ..."how Scouting took off all on its own with boys starting patrols and troops."

Comments

Up to the beginning of the last sentence is fine. We need to add there about how Scouting took off all on its own with boys starting patrols and troops. That is a fascinating part of the history. We must have something about it somewhere. Then we need to discuss how B-P coped with that spontaneous growth and Scouting spread rapidly. I think I an too old to handle that myself, but am prepared to check and comment. Bduke (talk) 07:47, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong with the current WP article Scouting? --Bduke (talk) 06:07, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good suggestion. I will add it. --evrik (talk) 15:31, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For balance, I'd like to see some of these get upgraded enough to be in the portal:
