Wikipedia Help Survey
Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.
Thank you for your time,

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to WWE Main Event may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

WNBA Standings
Hi GameWiz14! Thanks for updating the WNBA standings templates. Its nice to have someone on top of them so they get updated in a timely manner. :) One thing to watch out for is the abbreviation that goes with the team is above the team in the wiki code. For example, the LVA for the Aces is next to the |- before their rank as 1st in the conference. Just be careful when you're moving teams around in the standings. Thanks! Sharks & Golden Knights stats
Hi there. There are a few minor things that I have noticed with your edits in regards to the Sharks and Golden Knights stats. First, players that are tied with the same amount of points but have more goals than the player they are tied in points with, are ranked above the players with less goals. In your last update on the Vegas page, you had Nicolas Hague ranked above Tomas Nosek, both have 11 points, but Nosek has 6 goals and 5 assists, while Hague only has 1 goal and 10 assists. I've seen this in a few of your edits on the Sharks and Vegas pages, which has led me to having to fix it several times. In addition, you need to update the |accessdate=
parameter in the citation templates because it verifies that the reference URL's are still working properly. If you have questions, you can
- @Yowashi: Thanks for the advice. I wasn't too certain if I should put up a player above another based on goals in case they're tied with other in terms of points. Also, if two players happen to be tied in both goals, assists and points, should I place them based on Plus-Minus ratio at that point? GameWhiz14 (talk) 10:30, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
- When I update stats, I use these references from NHL.com. Sharks skaters, Sharks goalies, VGK skaters, VGK goalies. The references have the players sorted by goals, assists, and then points. I don't know if you use these to obtain your info from or not, but these are the most reliable sources because it is straight from the NHL. These references are also included in the stats tables on both pages, but they look like this [1]. The Sharks page has this reference in the stats table. I don't use that one because there are times where the save % and GAA for the goalies don't match with the other references. That's because, the ref that I last mentioned only shows the goalies' TOI to the nearest minute, instead of the exact TOI for a goalie. Using the rounded off number will mess up the calculations for the GAA and save %. Avoid using that reference, but you can use the ones that I mentioned earlier. Yowashi (talk) 18:48, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Yowashi: Yeah, I use NHL.com for references, along with Hockey Reference for the Sharks [2] and the Knights [3]. I use the NHL site more now since Hockey Reference misses some Goalie Stats on Games Played and Games Started, along with a the TOI being more accumulated than just being rounded up to the nearest minute.
