Although of note is the fact that through the production of weapon stockpiles for the purpose of deterrence the communists actually upheld peace, which is an important part of communist doctrine. Without this peaceful policing force, nuclear domination of a capitalist country with no such idea of peace built into their ideology, could have easily been the leader of next attempt at world domination in a terribly unbalanced WWIII.
