Good day Gr1st,
It seems that you uploaded here the logo of Getronics. Strange is that it's a Dutch company and can not not be uploaded at the Dutch Wikipedia nor to Commons. Any idea?
Thanks in advance for an answer--Patio (talk) 13:09, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi Pationl. It cannot be uploaded to Commons because Getronics holds the copyright - the logo is not "simple" enough to be considered a free image in the way that a line of plain text would be. As for the Dutch WP, each local language version of Wikipedia makes its own rules as to which (if any) copyrighted images are allowed to be uploaded under fair use. Here (and on e.g. the German and French versions) company logos are permitted, on the Dutch, Spanish, etc. versions they are not. Hope that helps, Gr1st (talk) 17:25, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. It's clear now. Patio (talk) 17:41, 18 May 2010 (UTC) I have a transparent version.
If you're interested can I mail it to you? Eventually you can e-mail me via Toolbox
Patio (talk) 15:37, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

If you want you can use File:Transparent Getronics logo.gif - if not feel free to delete it Patio (talk) 14:18, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Dear Gr1st,
I uploaded a file, to be more precise a picture and got following bot-comment:

Orphan non-free image

I did not want to interfere your work (an svg-file with black background). Can you make sure the gif-file will be deleted or used? Thanks in advance,
Patio (talk) 10:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

The transparent file is not great quality (possibly because it's a GIF). If I upload a transparent PNG and use that in the article I guess the SVG and GIF can be deleted? Gr1st (talk) 09:30, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Bouygues

Alright - so under most circumstances only IPA should be posted (according to the guideline you cited).

But the thing is that the company itself wrote the English pronunciation of its own name in a certain manner, and I think that needs to be conveyed in the article; the company has a "pronunciation" page explaining how to pronounce its own name. If the company didn't do that, I wouldn't have inserted a non-IPA pronunciation. But I inserted that pronunciation because the company officially writes the pronunciation of its name in a certain manner for English. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:18, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

But the existing pronunciation given within the article is the exact same thing, just written in IPA rather than pronunciation respelling. The company's preferred pronunciation is being conveyed, just in our "house style" rather than theirs. Best, Gr1st (talk) 17:48, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Geofizika

Hi!

My name is Vladimir and I was trying to make a page for my company Geofizika Croatia d.d. But aparently a person can't make his own company's wikipedia page, so they suggested me that I find me a "sponsor". I saw that you were editing a wiki-page of CGG Veritas, which is our main competitor. Would you be wiling to do the same for us?

Sincerely,

Vladimir —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vlucev (talkcontribs) 11:32, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not sure I can help you - I've had a look but do not see many
notability (in English at least, I don't speak Croatian). There are lots for a company like CGGVeritas, for example. If you can find reliable sources (e.g. newspaper articles) which treat the company in some detail, then let me know and I'll see what I can do. Gr1st (talk

File:British Energy.svg

I note you have replaced the image within File:British Energy.svg from the standalone "BE" logo to the "BE part of EDF Energy" logo. These are two different logos and I would suggest that the original and new logo should be available as they illustrate different periods in the British Energy evolution. --Stewart (talk | edits) 21:49, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

I would suggest that there is no need to have them both. The "new" logo is identical to the "old" logo but for the addition of a line underneath. As such, what is it exactly that the "old" logo is required to "illustrate"? That BE didn't use to be "part of EDF Energy"? A quick read of the lead will tell you that. It's the same company, just with a different owner. In addition I'm fed up getting endless deletion notifications for this image as it is constantly added to and removed from the article, so I'd appreciate it if this could be resolved one way or the other ASAP.
