Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page. =) -- Gogo Dodo 06:25, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Community Organization
I have have been warned against vandalism, and maybe it is true as wikipedia defines vandalism. I was trying to add contructive changes to the "community organization" entry, but it is really difficult to do as the entry is full of unsubstantiated claims and is not at all well documented. I feel that Wikipedia has more integrity without the entry than with the entry as it is. It seriously violates so many wikipedia parameters.
I am new to editing peoples work, and don't really understand the best way of flagging information. I mean no harm, but this entry truly needs a big red flag attached.
Thanks!

- Hey! Thanks again for adopting me. I actually have my first question: I created Template:Ecuador for the userboxes area. And in the coding for this template I tried to have a link to include folks to Category:Ecuadorian_Wikipedians but for some reason, it will not work. This is demonstrated by the fact that I have the user box on my user page, but I am not included in the category. What am I doing wrong? I hope this question makes sense. Thanks! --Endlessdan 12:59, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Ecuador userbox
Thank you for fixing that up for me! I have been copying other Userboxes and just switching the wording/pictures around to get em to work. This helps me out a lot cause I have other userboxes that are not linking properly. --Endlessdan 14:43, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Not sure who you are trying to reach about making "non-constructive" comments on pages, but it ain't me. I don't change wiki pages.
I suggest you research some more and track down the right person before you start accusing AVID users that they are up to no good.

Speedy deletion help
Hey, its me again! This time I need help with speedy deletion. I read the speedy deletion article, but I dunno which code to use for this case: Justinian43 It appears the user just made a wiki article based on their user page. --Endlessdan 16:17, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

"neutrality, reliable sources, and Wikipedia"
Re: "Thanks for your edits to the Iraq War article! Unfortunately, several Wikipedia policies were violated, most notably Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view and Wikipedia's policy on reliable sources. Also, some of the material appears to have been copied directly from another website. Lastly, some of the information in inserted is not pertinent to the section it was placed in (i.e. Brian Baird's views on the Iraq war and the information on Gitmo). If you have any questions about anything I've mentioned, or anything else about editing on Wikipedia, please contact me on my talk page.--Rise Above the Vile 16:40, 27 August 2007 (UTC)" Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:SFC_MAC"
First of all I AM AN IRAQ WAR VETERAN, and I can tell you in no uncertain terms that what you read in the MSM and see on the NBCCBSABCCNNMSNBCPBS news conglomerate does not coincide with much of what's happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. Body counts (American, not the enemy) and scandal, real or imagined, is all they manage to produce. Have you heard of Operation Arrowhead Ripper or Phantom Thunder? Of course not. Those are just major successful campaigns largely ignored by the newspapers you read and the T.V. news you watch.
The citation regarding the massacre at Hamira is from Michael Yon, a former Soldier-turned journalist who is embedded with American troops. There's a complete article and graphic pictures on his site: http://www.michaelyon-online.com/wp/update-on-bless-the-beasts-and-children.htm
A quote from Michael: "As the investigation unfolds more pertinent details, I’ll continue to update the story. But the biggest question rippling across the internet—“Why hasn’t the mainstream media picked this up?”—is something only representatives of mainstream media can answer. In fairness, several large outlets did publish it online: National Review Online and Fox News were both quick to place the story prominently on their websites. A few others also published excerpts. It was even briefly up on the Drudge Report. On the blog front, Instapundit, Hugh Hewitt, Blackfive, Andrew Sullivan, Captain’s Quarters and many others picked it up. But for those publications who actually had people embedded in Baqubah when the story first broke and still failed to cover it, their malaise is inexplicable. I do not know why all failed to report the murders and booby-trapped village: apparently no reporters bothered to go out there, even though it’s only about 3.5 miles from this base. Any one of the reporters currently in Baqubah could still go to these coordinates and follow his or her nose and find the gravesites."
One of you "neutral" Wikipedia people could be dragged all the way to Baqubah to see this yourself, but you'd still question the "reliability".
A good source for GITMO: Bill Roggio, also a former Soldier-turned journalist. The link to the GITMO piece: http://billroggio.com/archives/2005/06/this_is_a_gulag.php
Believe it or not, even the Democratic lunkheads who visited GITMO came away with an entirely different viewpoint from what they were being fed from the media.
So, what constitutes 'reliable'?
Did it ever occur to you that the people and sources I've cited are probably alot more reliable than say, The New Republic and their "man in Baghdad", Beauchamp? Or Newsweek's "Koran flushing" fib? Or The New York Times daily al Jazeera style of reporting?
There's alot of facts and news out there ignored by the MSM (and Wikipedia) on a daily basis. That does not mean it isn't true or reliable. Anyone with a couple of firing neurons can figure out that the MSM omits many aspects of reporting that might give the reader a view of the whole picture.
The citations I gave (which were deleted, of course) regarding the discovered WMDs were from the following sources: The U.S. Embassy: http://www.usembassy-dhaka.org/state/StatePD/pre1jul08_04.html
The (leftwing) WaPo: www.washingtonpost.com/wpdyn/content/article/2005/08/13/AR2005081300530.html
The San Francisco Gate: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/07/02/international1018EDT0516.DTL
The (leftwing) BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3872201.stm
Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,120137,00.html
Weekly Standard: http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/005/804yqqnr.asp?pg=2
If this site is any indication of which "sources" it respects more than others, at least TWO out of the five sources would have been acceptable to you. Read the articles yourself.
Newsflash: The people who write and edit pages on this site aren't "neutral" in any way shape or form. Glance through the Iraq War page and tell me with a straight face that it's objective. NO it's NOT. The entire skew of the page is anti- war and so far to the left it looks like a blurb from the DailyKos. Gawd knows the sources they give for their "points of view" read like a who's who of the anti-war Left. Have you bothered to look at them? I have. There's nothing 'neutral' about them. They simply prop up the position of the writer; there are no counterpoints. Wikipedia won't publish any material that directly refutes any of it.
"Neutral" indeed. Sergeant First Class Cheryl McElroy US ARMY (RET)

Hi, Hello
Hello again! I need your help. I keep reverting an article in which an unregistered user keeps promoting his band on the page. His band made a song about the main character from Anchorman, but it's really out of place in the article, and not to mention poorly written. And the reason I know it's his band is his promoting of his Myspace page...which includes his name (Cody). Am I wrong? I can't really communicate with or warn him since he has no userpage. How do I handle this?
And on the subject, it seems like I revert countless vandalism performed by unregistered user/IPs - how do I report or block these users? --Endlessdan 12:18, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
