- Excuse confusion, that talk page should no longer redirect. Removed redirect code, and replaced with project disambiguation template. Hong12kong (talk) 10:57, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
Masculinism
Wikipedia doesn't like
- I see that you had already started discussing on the talkpage while I was posting this. So, you can ignore that part of the message. But you still likely need to revert back, since based on the article and the summary I point to, the original version was actually correct. Note that the section is in the "criticism" section --Slp1 (talk) 01:10, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes, Kevin Gorman already reverted the passage back--but note that "the original version" was the one I was reverting to, in the (mistaken) belief that it was correct! As I explained on the Masculism talk page, I was defending the coherence of the WP article, but without actually reading the source. Once I read the source, I realized that the original version was wrong--wrong, that is, as a paraphrase of the source--and I was wrong to defend it. If the source is accurately paraphrased, then the entire paragraph becomes inappropriate for the Masculism entry, and should be cut. Hong12kong (talk) 08:49, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for this and your other note. Just to clarify one thing. If you check the history, you'll see that the longstanding "original (and accurate) version" is what it says now. It was changed by an IP yesterday [1], and you twice reverted back to this incorrect formulation.
- The whole thing is a good example of the need to check the sources before restoring information, even what seems like vandalism at times. Editors are held responsible the content of their edits even when they are reverting others. Please don't worry about though; it is an easy mistake to make fairly early in one's wiki career!! - Okay thanks! (I could have sworn I'd seen the paragraph the way I was reverting it back to, a week or two ago, when I was first working on the page ...) Hong12kong (talk)
