Welcome from Redwolf24

Welcome!

Hello, and

welcome
to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

  • The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
  • How to edit a page
  • Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
  • Picture tutorial
  • How to write a great article
  • Naming conventions
  • Manual of Style
  • Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
  • If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also
    Wikipedia:Topical index
    .

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get

orphans
.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a

help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page

External links

Wikipedia guidelines are fairly restrictive as far as external links are concerned. You may well have added those links in Optical disc and other articles in good faith, but your edit history suggests they are link spam. Please do read the resources supplied above before adding any further links to external web sites. Thank you. Rl 12:33, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the articles I linked to above. In particular this part: "Wikipedia disapproves strongly of links that are added for advertising purposes. Adding links to one's own page is strongly discouraged. The mass adding of links to any website is also strongly discouraged, and any such operation should be raised at the
Village Pump or other such page and approved by the community before going ahead. Persistently linking to one's own site is considered Vandalism and can result in sanctions.". When referring to your links, I used "external links" (instead of the common "link spam") because you seem to be an editor who tries and makes good contributions. Please note also that I left some links where they pointed to actual articles on the subject. That doesn't mean it's a good idea to have links to your site on all these articles. If you see other links that shouldn't be there, either, feel free to remove them, by the way. Rl 14:59, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply
