May I ask why you replaced my screenshot. I find that the background that you have on your desktop is distracting and detracts from the value of the image. If you must have a background, can you please use Bliss (image) as it is the default image on new Windows XP desktops. Harryboyles 12:26, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Your first screenshot in Windows Media Player 11 for XP that you uploaded, the visualization is turn off, the list pane is very large and the font you use is Segoe UI. I better to use the default font on Windows XP. — Jigs41793 Talk 07:44, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
I fixed all of those things, yet you replace it again with a screenshot which still has that background which I think looks ugly. This time my uploaded image has the default theme and background for Windows XP. Can you please leave this version as is. That way people can instantly tell which version of Windows is running. Harryboyles 10:19, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
OK, nice one — but where's the icons on your desktop (including the Recycle Bin)? Also, adjust a little bit of the task pane with the artists? — Jigs41793 Talk 14:01, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Uploading of Windows Screenshots

Throughout various pages with Windows-based screenshots, you have continuously uploaded images which contain custom themes and backgrounds. Noted guidelines here, could you please try to upload images which consist of the regular XP scheme (see example), allowing for uniformity throughout the various screenshots uploaded.

Just thought I would let you know, and thank you for uploading the images you already have, any help with the images is always welcome and needed. Chris (Talk) (Contribs) 06:50, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I will use "Luna" visual style, but I will don't apply that one because there's the Windows Vista icons in my computer :-) — Jigs41793 Talk 09:29, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

XP with a Vista theme

looking at the windows XP article i see that you made an image of xp with vistas theme applied by patching the uxtheme.dll file, ive done that but how do you/ where do you get the vista theme from? - adambonneruk

From deviantArt, which can be downloaded here. — Jigs41793 Talk 22:08, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I'm not vandalized your user page! I'm just edit your user page with a colorful background for this year, and add more userboxes for you when I log out from Wikipedia -- also, only signing out as a anonymous user is vandalized the article in

Windows and KND related images

Please stop putting Kids Next Door related images in articles. As others have said, any screenshots should try to be as neutral as possible - no big customizations, no things that a regular user would not see with a default setup. The only time a Windows XP image should show anything KND related is if the article is specifically to do with KND and Windows XP. —Vanderdeckenξφ 11:14, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Is not the Kids Next Door relating images of my screenshots -- I use Kids Next Door as a desktop background in Windows XP. Harryboyles said at the first message of my talk page:
"...I find that the background that you have on your desktop is distracting and detracts from the value of the image."
Because of this, when I upload the Windows-related screenshots with applying the Kids Next Door wallpaper as a desktop background, Wikipedians will see it to others. In my computer, I can't revert to my original icons of Windows XP. I will post the screenshots next time when I buy new computer. — Jigs41793 Talk 09:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
If you can't or won't use a default Windows XP theme when creating screenshots, I will remove every screenshot you upload. It is also completely inappropriate to use some third-party Vista rip-off theme to demonstrate Windows XP; all such screenshots uploaded by you will be removed as well. Wikipedia has very strict policies regarding

Once again, can you please try not to upload images which do not contain the basic styles of the operating system you are using (Luna + Bliss Wallpaper for XP, Aero + Blue/Green Aero Background for Vista) Chris (Talk) (Contribs) 20:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Images of Windows Vista

I don't know who to ask about this, and you seem to have had an issue with him lately, so I'll ask you.

User:Themodernizer has been (what feels like) stalking me and removing images I've uploaded of Windows Vista with ones of his own. They are virtually identical, except for the desktop background. What is the proper procedure or recourse here? —Disavian (talk/contribs
) 23:03, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

What? I'm not using Windows Vista yet... I using Windows XP with patching the UXTHEME.DLL patch to my unsigned Windows XP interface. Jigs41793 Talk 23:17, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
This doesn't have to do with anything you did... it's just that
User:Themodernizer has replaced all of the screenshots that I've uploaded, and I don't know who to complain to. I saw that you've had an issue with him lately, and told you. I figured you might know whether I need to bring this to RfArbitration, Third Opinion, something else, etc —Disavian (talk/contribs

Please refrain from uploading screenshots of Windows XP that do not use the default theme and/or contain unnecessary content.

Please, could you take some respect in this. You have continued to upload images with distracting backgrounds and customized themes when it should be the basic XP Luna scheme with a blue or bliss background Chris (Talk) (Contribs) 14:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

User:J Di
's page

He has made it clear in the past he does not want a user page. Some people don't, for certain reasons. Why have you recreated it? He's already expressed a clear desire not to have one, and you've just created one for no good reason. – Chacor 01:51, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I see you've done this before, too. It is blockable if you keep this up. – Chacor 01:52, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Why do I have to keep telling you this?

Do not upload or otherwise replace screenshots of Microsoft Windows that do not portray a default system. There is absolutely no justification for you to replace screenshots of Windows XP, Windows Media Player, or any other such image, with something that includes icons, desktop backgrounds, or other elements that are not part of Microsoft Windows itself. Doing so is intentionally misleading our readers, and if you have to be blocked from editing Wikipedia in order to get you to stop with this entirely unhelpful and vandalistic behaviour, that can be arranged. If you're here to help build a better encyclopedia, please feel free to do so by contributing in other ways. Otherwise, bugger off and leave the encyclopedia alone -- we don't need this kind of crap.

Windows Vista article

I added the text "The classic visual style in Windows Vista is unfinished, containing some old icons from previous beta versions of Windows Vista and Windows XP that have not been updated. The user interface is less polished than Windows XP's classic visual style and Windows Vista's other visual styles." to the Windows Vista article, and I also corrected a misspelling. You reverted my entire edit with the explanation, "Windows Classic style for Vista is not planned for this." What is that supposed to mean? Unless you can sufficiently defend your reasoning, I will re-add my edits along with a proper reference. --Samvscat 20:52, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I have agreement that the user, Weixiang7326 has been vandalized for misinformation in the article, Windows Vista, and also it replaces their Windows screenshots with copyright material images of the TV Animé show, "Doraemon" and it uses the Royale theme in Windows XP. Have a look at his contributions, for example, Meteoroid -- I notice when I'm not created an account to Wikipedia last year, I see that mistyped the information to the Windows Vista article (as well to the minimum requirements), and replacing the Windows fair-use images, such as Windows XP and Windows Media Player, I found that maybe an adult content. I left a final warning at the Weixiang7326's talk page -- and if he continue to replace the inappropriate screenshots to the article, report Weixiang7326 to the administrator and will be blocked permanently from editing Wikipedia. Thanks! Jigs41793 Talk/contribs 01:30, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
