Sally Ride

It's outrageous that you deleted "the first lesbian in space" edit from Sally Ride's bio. It's a crucial part of her biography, inspirational to millions of gay people around the world, and confirmed by press reports and her own company's death announcement today.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/23/sally-ride-first-american-woman-female-partner-_n_1696537.html

We're not in the 1960s any more. Being a lesbian - especially a pioneering lesbian - is a source of pride, not of shame. Especially when the person's own company is so open about it.

Shame on you for your bigoted deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Enzuli (talkcontribs) 00:31, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Unsourced stuff like that gets deleted. Care to guess how many edits of "lesbo" and "faggot" I have deleted? Notice that I did not delete it once it was sourced? Not doing yourself any favors here. Jim1138 (talk) 00:35, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

But it was sourced - in the PERSONAL section. In any event, I added a source now. It's being discussed everywhere. And it's clearly an important part of how she lived and of her legacy. Sorry for imputing bad faith to you, but it was just upsetting to watch that part of her life be banished as though it was bad and wrong when it's the opposite. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Enzuli (talkcontribs) 00:42, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

"Deleted" page was redirected for accuracy

The page was not deleted but intentionally redirected to Tuckahoe Marble which is the accurate and verified name for the specific stone that is being discussed. There are no sources to even validate "Westchester Marble" as being an even remotely notable name of a specific rock. Additionally most of the content used in the "Westchester Marble" is taken directly from info. taken directly from "Tuckahoe". If anything Westchester Marble can refer to the marble produced throughout different parts of the county, however, there would be nothing notable about that. The marble of recognition is specifically from the quarry at Tuckahoe, from which the entire development of the town of "Tuckahoe" is based. Tuckahoe Marble is known by name, place of origin, and physical qualities and color. Thanks --66.87.2.231 (talk) 06:59, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Westchester marble is the original article. If it needs to be moved/renamed, you should perform a move, not a copy / paste. Please see Wikipedia:Moving a page. This is to maintain the article's history. Westchester marble gets 9000 hits in google v. 13,600 for Tuckahoe Marble, so Westchester is not insignificant. I would recommend you discuss it in talk:Westchester marble given the revert history. Jim1138 (talk
) 07:11, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
I do not know why the original article would have ever been Westchester Marble instead of Tuckahoe Marble. Perhaps there were two articles at first a while back? If Westchester Marble is getting more hits than Tuckahoe Marble that might merely have to do with the fact that "Westchester" is a much more widely used search term for people/places/things countywide and therefore would pull up related names/topics like "Westchester Marble" for example. The results for a google search of "Westchester Marble" are almost entirely for private stone supply retailers and contracters within the county with the exception of one result for the intial wikipedia page. A google search for "Tuckahoe Marble" results a number of links specifically related to"Tuckahoe Marble" and its notability and relevance. Additionally the sources and references used in Westchester Marble article are only relevant when in the context of Tu ources used and the need for corrections. 66.87.2.231 (talk) 08:18, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
I am not too concerned about the name of the article. I am concerned about loosing the
wp:page history. It appears that you (or someone) copied the information from Westchester marble and pasted it into Tuckahoe Marble and changed the instances of "Weschester" to "Tuckahoe". Doing so would cause the page history to be lost. Please request a page move instead. BTW: there are more google hits on Tuckahoe than Westchester. I was pointing out that Westchester marble is not insignificant. Please follow Wikipedia:Moving a page to rename Weschester marble. You probably should change Tuckahoe back to a redirect to Weschester for the time being. An administrator will need to do the page move, I believe. Cheers Jim1138 (talk

Article Kashibai without any reference for 4 years

Well its beyond anyone's imagination that such articles are completely worthless, any search on google or google books or for a matter of fact that Sadashiv was issue less and further the article is without any source for over 4 years. Further the only Kashibai in Maratha history is wife of Nana Saheb(Peshwa Balaji Rao). But still you can help me to nominate this article for deletion as an article without any source for 4 years that too its a known fact that sadashiv dont have any child.ARIHANT SUB (talk) 05:01, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

But its malicious contents cannot be maintained most citation tags are their for years, not a single book or scholar mentions anything about any such women. Most probably Some Sikh editors have propped up this from their own fantasy. http://www.google.co.in/webhp?rlz=1C1RNHN_enIN478IN478&sourceid=chrome-instant&ie=UTF-8#hl=en&rlz=1C1RNHN_enIN478IN478&tbm=bks&sclient=psy-ab&q=KASHIBAI+DAUGHTER+SADASHIV&oq=KASHIBAI+DAUGHTER+SADASHIV&gs_l=serp.3...289830.300771.4.300931.40.31.8.1.2.0.211.4384.0j29j2.31.0...0.0...1c.NgtXTTXDj6Q&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=96224b27fb31dccc&biw=1280&bih=629

No such thing ever existed , infact its surprising that how such an article was maintained for 4 continous years with all the citation tags remaining as it is for years. I dont know the procedure for nominating any article for deletion but the article is completely a fantasy and nothing more than that.ARIHANT SUB (talk) 05:06, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Thats what i am asking how to nominate this article for deletion. Where we have to post this issue. thnx. I am not accusing you as i said that what you said was right according to WP guidelines but that line of Salvaging an article on a Person who never existed was a wrong one. So plz help me in nominating this Ghost Article for deletion. Thnx once again.ARIHANT SUB (talk) 05:11, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
It is more tedious than anything. I'll nominate it if you add information supporting the deletion? I'll leave a link on your talk page. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:15, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Jim my mate you are not understanding their is no such Women Like Kashibai Who is daughter of Sadashiv Bhau as he dont have any child at all. Further the responsibility of providing references to claim made in Kashibai article depends on those who have created a Ghost Article on a Ghost Person who never existed in History.

http://www.google.co.in/webhp?rlz=1C1RNHN_enIN478IN478&sourceid=chrome-instant&ie=UTF-8#hl=en&rlz=1C1RNHN_enIN478IN478&tbm=bks&sclient=psy-ab&q=sadashiv+bhau+daughter&oq=sadashiv+bhau+daughter&gs_l=serp.3...41231.48305.2.48384.31.27.4.0.0.0.214.3739.0j25j1.26.0...0.0...1c.7z9Z8XFLCtU&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=96224b27fb31dccc&biw=1280&bih=629

No Kashibai reference is found in any book or by any scholar, can you see that Citation tags are as it is for Years and many editors have already raised the intention of such dubious articles. I have nominated it for deletion. ThnxARIHANT SUB (talk) 05:18, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Thnx for all your help, i have restored the article(knowing though its completely false as no such Figure ever existed), so that if anyone specially those who have been bringing shame and unreliability to wikipedia are given fair chance to provide Reliable sources to even prove this point that any such women like Kashibai ever exist who was daughter of Maratha Commander in Chief Sadashivrao Bhau(He and his wife parvatibai were childless). Thnx for guiding me through all the procedure.

Hello Jim, sorry for all the trouble but I believe some people in my hometown wish to censor any material that they deem unacceptable. I've noted two songs and a fictional novel that keeps getting deleted. The other stuff I've entered may very well violate your terms but as to the songs and the novel they are both notable and primary sources. Am I missing something here? I am rather fond of my hometown both the good and the bad. tiltedsun88

(Hitting head against wall) Yes, what you're missing has been explained numerous times. The information relates to non-notables, and uses unacceptable sources. I live in Connecticut, and have no idea why anyone would want to censor this--it's plain unencyclopedic. 99.137.209.191 (talk) 00:22, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

It's notable to people who live in this town so I guess keep hitting your head and maybe something will shake loose?? jokin...It's under the interesting facts section which I see as trivia that is not necessarily of historic value. Also, you are not the only one deleting things here. I'm sure there are things about your hometown that are only interesting to you. I kinda like the one song and the other is terrible but then I don't like country music so. Most people in my town pretend the novel does'nt exist so I don't think I can budge on that one in my opinion. As a longtime editor here I realize it's incumbent upon us to be patient with newcomers.....that said, this has been explained a lot of times already. It doesn't matter a lick whether you or I find the information important. It doesn't meet the encyclopedia's guidelines, which I do wish newcomers would bother reading, so as not to prolong such timesinks.... 99.137.209.191 (talk) 00:36, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

I changed your edit to
English translations of the Qur'an

Jim, even if an Indian newspaper put out an article praising a particular translation, that's not a useful evaluation. It's one obscure newspaper; the article could have been written by a friend of the translator; the article could have been based on a press release. The translation list would be useless if it filled up with praise of one or another translation from possibly interested parties. It is useful to know that it was translated in South Asia and that it uses AmE. Zora (talk) 22:38, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

That's fine by me. Think what I left was bad, take a look at what came before diff I was on the fence about deleting the whole entry and left the link in an attempt to differentiate between the many different "The Qur'an" titles in the list.
Would you mind taking a look at this edit? Seems strange diff Thanks for the note. Cheers Jim1138 (talk)
I wondered about that too. It seems as if it's an attempt to attract American Muslims -- perhaps new converts. I wouldn't care if they were converts or women or Americans; I'd care if they were competent and knew their Quranic Arabic. Somehow I don't think that all of these supposed translators can be qualified scholars. I thought about reversing it and then I wasn't sure. I'd almost have to have a copy of the translation in front of me to decide what I think. P.S. I'm not a Muslima; I'm a Buddhist. But I do care a lot about careful scholarship and good translation. ) 18:47, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
I see. But I think the page would become a bit cluttered if [[Tor (anonymity network)|TOR]] registration required where put next to all links to Silk Road. Maybe if we moved the Onion. To and Tor2web.org links to that top-right grey info-box where the normal .onion-URL is. They're pretty darn useful to users who do not have Tor and just wants to see what it's all about. Such a user that would read a wiki-page. One could argue that they should be added to every wiki-page about a .onion-site. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.93.112 (talk) 19:29, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

I moved the two links up to the infobox. Tor2web seems to be down right now, but they'll probably be back soon. I also put the text "requires registration" next to the text "requires tor" in the infobox, but it seems a out of place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.93.112 (talk) 23:26, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Your removal of Tom Zionkowski is incorrect, he is an extremely notable alum who is cited as the youngest paid dance music producer in the state of illinois . Also as a touring midwestern dj and has been featured in magazines such as MIXMAG and Lets Mix. Also is a pioneer sponsored professional dj and has collaberated with the likes of LIL Jon and Ludacris on and dance anthem For the University of Wisconsin. Also noted for being featured on BBC Radio 1 with DJ Kutski. Also noted official remix of Naturally by Salena Gomez. As well as a feature in the chicago sun times for his sound editing for the acclaimed revitalized version of the documentary "inquiring Nuns". Also produced the entire EP for Booshua a Chicagoan rap artist well known in the college scene. Is signed to multiple record labels with songs on Itunes beatport amazon etc. Also a Ford model, Photographer for the Badger Herald and Capitol Times (madison). Court Bauer executive producer status

Hi Jim. There is a user on the

Court Bauer page making all sorts of claims about a supposed TV show in Thailand. He mentioned a TV network in Thailand. The website for that network makes no reference to any work Court Bauer has done. This user is using this to try to label Bauer as an American executive producer. The thing is that Bauer owned an independent wrestling promotion in Florida named Major League Wrestling. The company went out of business in 2004. I guess he can claim that he was also an executive producer of the same company he founded and owned but that's about it. He hasn't done anything since 2004 so at the very best he should be labeled as a former executive producer. The company MLW has not run live events since 2004 and only exists today as a website that airs podcasts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.211.139.146 (talk

One more note. The user claims that Major League Wrestling is still operational so therefore, if that is the case, then wouldn't he be a pro wrestling promoter? Other than MLW he does not have a history of producing television programs. MLW ran local events in Florida from 2002-2004. --95.211.139.146 (talk) 03:03, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

I'm not trying to write over anything. I'm just trying to write to you. Please do not delete any of my work. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patriotsfan12345 (talkcontribs) 08:49, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

You did overwrite content with this edit. Don't do that. If your edits are unsourced, I, or someone else will likely remove them. Please use proper
wp:talk page etiquette and put new comments on the bottom of the page. Jim1138 (talk

Mike Sweeney page

You altered my edit to his page, which, if you were actually listening to his show at the time, you would have known was in response to a request for edits.

I'm going to revert it back - thanks for the sense of humour failure... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Npfiii (talkcontribs) 07:00, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism by request is still vandalism. Jim1138 (talk) 07:08, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
