Actually saying "assigned" male at birth isn't correct. Laverne Cox was male at birth, identifies as a woman, and surgically altered his body to make it appear female. Some call that, as I am sure you are aware, "gender reassignment", which is also a flawed concept. But of the sake of this argument, I will accept it.
