Hi - I note your edit summary when you reverted my last edit. IIIRC, a few years ago an obituary in a Southampton FC matchday programme said that the subject was the last surviving Saints player from before WWII. I can no longer find this and it would be difficult to cite. A new book is due in September which will bring the Southampton player bios up to date, so if that gives a date for Clarke's death, I can eit the article then. This recent obituary of Charlie Purves confirms that the oldest living former Southampton player is probably Stan Clements who become 90 on 25 June 2013. I have therefore reverted your edits to the Clarke article. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 04:19, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
