What exactly was this edit meant to achieve? IrishGuy talk 22:21, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that! I was importing the article into Wikibooks so I could use it there. It is a very convoluted procedure, and I made a mistake. Here's basically what has to be done:
  1. Import the article from Wikipedia into Wikibooks Transwiki namespace.
  2. Delete any existing Wikibooks chapter we wish to add the material to.
  3. Move the imported article to the Wikibook chapter
  4. Delete it again
  5. Undelete everything
  6. Edit
I must have still been in Wikipedia when I attempted step 3. Please accept my humble apology. --Jomegat 02:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is annoying!

User:1exec1 merged them to C data types. Though I have no regrets over merging articles, what surprised me is that it was not actually merged; it was deleted. Not much content from inttypes.h can be seen in C data types. This article has hardly any information on inttypes.h. What is more annoying is the fact that there is no sign as to who improved the now non-existent inttypes.h. The case of tgmath.h is also very similar. Is this justified? Is there an explanation for this? Does Wikipedia unjustly reward "experienced" Wikipedia editors to review even more such articles? Please review this, my interest in contributing to Wikipedia and to Wikibooks relies on this.

I am a user on Wikipedia, though I don't do very much work here at all. I am an admin at Wikibooks, and I imported several WP articles related to the C standard library to WB, and did a history merge there. A history merge requires temporary deletion, followed by a restore operation. After that, the person who requested the import has the responsibility to merge the text of the articles (the admin only merges the history). However - all that happened at Wikibooks, not here at Wikipedia. I have no admin rights here and do not control what gets deleted here. --Jomegat (talk) 01:57, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
