PROD

Hey, are you aware that you can PROD files for deletion? Might be a better avenue then FFD, especially some of the junk file that were nominated on 1 February. Salavat (talk) 03:26, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please note that the
proposed deletion process states that "You should notify the article's creator or other significant contributors by adding the {{subst:Proposed deletion notify|Name of page}} tag or other appropriate text to contributor talk pages." Andrew🐉(talk) 13:24, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply

UptownHoustonStreetSign.JPG

Hi! An image of a street sign has an educational usage as it shows people that Uptown Houston has special street signs in its district. However I don't mind a deletion on ENWiki because I have now moved the file to the Wikimedia Commons WhisperToMe (talk) 14:46, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@WhisperToMe: - as the image was orphaned, it was not meeting such an educational use (assuming, without deciding if, it has one). As it is now at Commons, it becomes their issue to determine if it has such as value. Jordan 1972 (talk) 15:17, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They almost certainly will. There's a lot of latitude given to whether an image has educational value, and I would suggest perusing the Commons to see which images are kept and which aren't. Texas management districts (special districts created by the Texas Legislature) do their own branding for their own areas and the street signs are part of that branding. Good day Jordan 1972! :-) Although I'm not the actual author of the pic in question -

PROD}} on the file? I examined the uploader's contributions, and found and took note that T was once used at the article Boyle, County Roscommon, on this edition: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Boyle,_County_Roscommon&oldid=310823525 . And it can be transferred to Commons and placed at Commons:Category:M4 motorway (Republic of Ireland) - in which the article N4 road (Ireland) is linked to. @JWilz12345: I have removed the Prod tag based on your comments above (anyone can remove a Prod not just the uploader). I have now sent it to FfD at this https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2020_April_21&curid=63717607&diff=952302722&oldid=952272225] link if you would like to comment. I tried to convey your comments made on my talk page into the nomination. Jordan 1972 (talk) 15:25, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of Coronation Street characters (2011)

Just to clarify with you, the edit I made back in June 2021 on List of Coronation Street characters (2011) was to update Craig Tinker’s residence (in the show), I don’t know why but for some reason, when I did it, it turned the episode numbers for other characters into phone numbers, I don’t know why this happened, but it wasn’t my fault. Understandably, you then fixed this, but you also reverted my update to Craig tinker, and said that I was making ‘unhelpful edits’. No, the edits were helpful, the residence I added for Craig was correct (and still is), because I have actually been watching the programme so know what’s going on. Thankfully, someone else sorted the issue, but I just want to let you know that before you call someone unhelpful, assume good faith. Blanchey (talk) 13:26, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
