I know what you mean, but 金 and 釒are different surnames. See Eric "Schmit" and Will "Smith". There are many family names that share the same meaning and same etymology. Thank you for drawing this to my attention and providing a link to back things up. My misunderstanding, I assumed it was an error as it appears identical to the simplified Chinese version of the 釒 radical (钅). It would be interesting to know how this rare Hanja form of the surname 김 would be written by hand, as we are limited by what is presently coded within Unicode to represent it digitally. My guess would be that 钅 is but the closest we can get to something similar in appearance that is currently encoded to represent it. I imagine in reality it would be a full width Hanja, though again I could be wrong. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to explain. Jordanopia (talk) 05:13, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
