Feedback on your sandbox work

Hi, Journal06!

I have been taking a look at some of the great work you and your classmates have been doing in your class at F&M. I told your Ambassadors I would take a look and give some feedback. I know your assignment was already due a few days ago, but hopefully you can take some time to address the following. For the most part, it looks like the content you've put together makes a lot of sense for this article and will be a great expansion! Here are some of the things I noticed that will hopefully help you out:

  • Formatting references: Don't forget to include information about the source beyond the URL. This gives people a chance to access the source down the road and gives a more complete picture of where you're getting your information. This handout may help you with the formatting, and you can also use the Template toolbar at the top of your editing window! I encourage you to go through and adjust all of the citations you have added so far.
  • Tone: I think the content you have developed here is good, and that's really important on Wikipedia. One thing that helps me when I'm editing a page is to try to read through what I wrote and consider whether I wrote it in a way that sounds promotional rather than strictly relaying the facts. Try that out and see if there are any spots where you can tweak the tone. :)
  • Add into the actual article! I hope you'll take the work and sections you've added here in your sandbox and are planning to copy them into the main article. I can't remember if that's the next step of your assignment and you are waiting for feedback from your Ambassadors and professor, but hopefully you will add your information in to the Souk el Tayeb article for others to read.

Great work here. I hope you have enjoyed editing and may even come back to edit outside of the classroom. Let me know if you have any questions or anything I can help you with! Jami (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:39, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
