Happy editing! ~Kvng (talk) 14:18, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome Kvng :)
I must admit I hadn’t intended to get into editing tech pages - I only recently created an account after I tripped over broken markdown on random pages and made anonymous edits a couple of times, and I was planning on keeping to passive stuff like that. But I was perusing HAL-related pages seeking some inspiration for terminology at work when I spotted some weirdness on the Abstraction Layer intro, and best I could tell the reference given for it didn’t really support what was said, so I figured I’d nix it and write a diplomatic edit-comment. Hope that was okay. (I was a bit worried when I saw your message, that you might be objecting!) I can’t imagine it’ll be the last time I trip over something in the Software Engineering domains that I feel is weird, so if there’s a way of working or culture in this community I need to know about please do say!
And thanks for the reminder about the intros on editing etc. I didn’t worry about them initially as I was literally only fixing broken markdown and typos, but if I’m going to keep having Opinions on stuff related to my day job I really should make myself aware of that stuff, so I’ll take a look.
Thanks for the work you do here. As a long-time user of Wikipedia for casual research at work, it’s very much appreciated!
Thanks again for the hello.
