Help with article

{{helpme}}
````kiwimrsmac````
not sure where I have gone wrong with this article. Is the format incorrect or the content. Can someone please advise? Thanks
When you leave messages, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time. You can also do this by clicking the 'sign' button, pictured to the right.
I assume you are asking about the article FlightPathTV ?
The main problem I see with that is, it has links to other websites within the body text. That is not permitted; the links can only appear either as a) footnoted references, or b) in a special section at the end for == External links == - but, in the latter case, only subject to certain conditions; see
WP:EL
.
So. the links to http://www.malcolmclement.com/malcolmclement.com/Home.html http://www.fletchermckenzie.com/Fletcher%20McKenzie/Fletcher%20McKenzie.html etc. should be removed.
Other links - which are
reliable sources
- should be used as references, instead. For example, regarding the "Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year" it should be like this;
Lynn Tilton was awarded the Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year award in January 2011.<ref>[http://www.azcentral.com/business/news/articles/2011/01/24/20110124mesa-lynn-tilton-md-helicopters-aviation0122.html Tilton named Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year], Art Thomason, ''The Arizona Republic'', 24 January 2011, retrieved 30 January 2011</ref>
Lynn Tilton was awarded the Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year award in January 2011.[1]
  1. ^ Tilton named Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year, Art Thomason, The Arizona Republic, 24 January 2011, retrieved 30 January 2011
You might also want to use a citation template, which I will explain below.  Chzz  ►  09:59, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Tips on referencing
There are lots of ways to do this, some are simple, some more complex.
Personally, I like using citation templates, and fill in as much as I possibly can; maybe a bit more work, but I think it looks better. You have a <REF> at the start, then a suitable cite tag, then </REF>. An example usage is;
<ref>
{{Citation
 | last = Preston
 | first = Peter
 | title = D. H. Lawrence in the modern world
 | last2 = Hoare
 | first2 = Peter
 | publication-date = 1989
 | place = [[Cambridge]], [England]
 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
 | page = 125
 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4
 | url = http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=J5nRoaOwkPMC&printsec=frontcover#PPA125,M1
 | accessdate = 2008-05-11
}}
</ref>
For all the possible things to include, see Template:Citation
Of course, you don't have to put everything in, just whatever you can. The above example is a book, but I've included a 'convenience link' to a website that displays it.
Then, at the end of the document (but before any 'category' tags), you need a references section. You just put,
== References ==
{{reflist}}
Hard work? - help is at hand. There are lots of
tools that create cite tags automagically. Personally, I use Zotero for the web links, and the cite book generator
for books.
I also recommend you look at other articles and copy from them - especially
featured articles
, which should have good refs.
Hope this help, cheers,  Chzz  ►  09:59, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Kiwimrsmac (talk) 04:29, 31 January 2011 (UTC) Thanks for all the advice. I'm slowing going through and correcting the external links to become references where appropriate.[reply]
