PepsiAmericas

The Category:Corporation stubs is extremely overpopulated. When I started cleaning up the category, it contained (rough estimate) over 3,000 stubs. In order to clean up the category, many articles had to be moved to other categories (e.g. Bank stubs), and some new categories had to be created (e.g. Restaurant stubs). For now, drink-stub is imo a better location for PepsiAmericas than corp-stub. Corp-stub is very broad, and is meant as a net for articles that can't fit into an already existing category. Drink-stub indicates what kind of corporation PepsiAmericas is: a beverage-related corporation. This is not a golden rule though: if there are enough articles, a new stub category might be created: {{drink-corp-stub}}, in order to make a distinction between articles about beverages, and articles about the corporations producing beverages. I hope this answers your question. And no, you didn't do anything wrong ;) Aecis 18:48, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

hi there Laurap414! I noticed you added Soiling to AfD. There are a couple of things you did slightly wrong, and I hope you don't mind me letting you know (I saw your userbox!) Firstly, see

Soiling

Hello Laura. Don't worry, I won't be offended. But I think that if it has to be merged, than strictly encopresis and fecal incontinence would need to me merged too. The 3 all mean pretty much the same with minor differences mainly depending on the context. I would like to do a "cleanup", meaning I could translate the article in lay-terms that are easier to understand and adding references and evidence. But I will only do it once the threat that the article will disappear shortly is being lifted, because I don't want to do the work just for somebody else to delete it. I think I have a very good article on this subject valuable for all who are affected by this problem, and I understand it needs cleanup. But I also understand Mr.Condem who thins that a Guide on Management doesn't belong to an Encyclopedia. Please make up your mind whether I should carry on with cleaning or not. I would NOT be happy to alter the Encopresis- or Fecal soiling- pages, because these articles are both very good as they are, and I don't want to mess them up. Greetings, Peter Aberpete 19:20, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi there. I have followed your order and done a spell-check, removed the ""s, and rephrased some sentences. I'm sure it is still not perfect, I'm new to Wikipedia and my English has always been crap. I can only do more if you tell me exactly where the problems are. With your permission I would remove the copyedit-tag. Greetings, PeterAberpete 01:54, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hiram Abrams

Hey, thanks for putting the notice on the article. I'm fixing it now; I will delete the Hiram Abrams page and make the move, your copy and paste attempt to fix will be taken care of. Happy editing to you! Teke (talk) 03:29, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for mentioning the google cache (already realised that, I've been around on wikipedia for a long time!), but I recall even older versions of Vin DiCarlo (sadly it has been deleted a lot of times without a proper process, this is hopefully going to the first full AfD for it). Also the really annoying thing is the google cache doesn't give you the nice wiki code, only the processed version the googlebot saw on wikipedia. So I can't see that actuall wiki code to use in the article directly or the older versions. Oh well, is times like this that I wish I was an Admin. Would make it so much easier to improve articles like this. Anyway, thanks again for the thought with helping me out. :) Mathmo Talk 20:13, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Laura,

Thanks for your question regarding the Robert ParkeHarrison page. I have added some text to support notability. I was (and am) hoping others will add more to fill out the page. Hopefully what I have added will do for now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidJHowe (talkcontribs) 03:22, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FRIENDLY
documentation change

With this edit, do you mean that Friendly doesn't work in IE or that clearing your cache doesn't work in IE?

Oh -- since the documentation states that Friendly doesn't work in IE, I thought to remove the reference to Control F5. I can see how it would be confusing. Please feel free fix to be more clear, or I would be happy to. laurap414 (talk) 15:54, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That makes sense! Come to think of it, I'm not really sure if it works in IE or not...I've never tried. Are you using IE?
friendly) 15:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply
]

I am using IE6. I "installed" it and nothing seemed to happen when I refreshed. But then I saw that the page states several times that it only works in Firefox so I uninstalled it. How would I know it was "working"? laurap414 (talk) 15:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If it was working you would see a couple of new tabs on certain screens. If you went to an article, you should see a "tag" tab and if you go to a user talk page, you should see a "welcome" tab. There are screenshots on the documentation page that should give you an insight into what they will look like.
friendly) 16:37, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply
]

Well IE6 doesn't even have tabs so doubtful that would work! Does the change to the documentation make sense, or should it be further modified? laurap414 (talk) 16:42, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, it doesn't add tabs into IE; it adds new tabs to the top of your Wikipedia skin. You know the page history and edit tabs...the new tabs will be like those.
friendly) 16:48, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply
]

Ohhhhh those tabs!!! OK it added the tabs but when I click on it IE says "Error on Page" so the documentation is correct, no dice.

== Welcoming Newbies ==

Hey There,

I noticed you put a reference to a speedy tag on a new user's page without "welcoming" them. I always try to put a {subst:welcome!} on a newbie's page in addition to the warning -- encourages them to "try, try again", you know? Just a suggestion. We were all newbies once!!  :-) Anyway good luck with the adminship. Cheers, laurap414 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 16:53, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Peru

Hi, yes I just noticed the older edits - they've now been reverted. Unfortunately I'm not an admin so can't block the user, but I've added a level 3 warning - the next warning is a level 4 then a repeat should result in a blocking. --JD554 (talk) 14:36, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Triclosan edit needs another source

In a September edit to Triclosan you added information about a product and cited the product's own "techbrief" as a source. It would be helpful if you could add a source that's not related to the manufacturer of the product. -Miskaton (talk) 22:45, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the support and the suggestion. Only . . . I don't seem to have a "mark this page patrolled" checkbox at the bottom of a page when I edit. Mayhap because I'm coming in through the secure side of wikipedia? Cheers! Bagheera (talk) 00:21, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could you explain why you placed a speedy deletion tag on Pritam Saini article? To the best of my knowledge schoarship in English language is not a condition to establish notability on wikipedia. I see what you are saying but then why is Colts protected (it's not a BLP)? Also the Saints has had some minor vandalism already today (not counting mine ;-). Cheers, laurap414 (talk) 21:24, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot speak for User:JForget, who was the one who protected that Colts article yesterday.[1] I guess that admin felt there was enough frequent vandalism within the few hours before he changed the protection. As for the Saints article history[2] there only has been a few edit to that page in the last few hours, not enough to protect now IMO. But that might change later today. Cheers. New deal for page patrollers

Hi Laurap414,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RC Patrol-related Proposals in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
