Disambiguation link notification for November 6

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Birth and death of Nathaniel Branden

Hello.

I think this edit could have been done better. It said:

Nathaniel Branden (born April 9, 1930)

It now says:

Nathaniel Branden (April 9, 1930 – December 3, 2014)

But you changed it to:

Nathaniel Branden (born April 9, 1930-December 3, 2014)

The first form is appropriate to living persons; the second is appropriate to those who have died, but the third makes it sound as if he was being born throughout that 84-year interval, so that's not how it should be done. Also, notice that an en-dash rather than a hyphen is used, per

WP:MOS. I think the convention is that if years alone are mentioned, then 1930–2014 (with no blank spaces separating the dash from the numbers) is used, whereas if the month and the day are also mentioned, then that spacing is used. Michael Hardy (talk) 04:01, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited William J. Fallon (attorney), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Thomas Osborne, Fordham and Governor Whitman. Speedy deletion nomination of International Association of Assessing Officers

Hello LienEmpire,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged

promotional

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I thought the IAAO article would be acceptable because other organizations that grant valuation and similar professional designations have articles. The format/tone I wrote the article in was similar to the ASA. My question is if the American Society of Appraisers, BOMA and the IMFA have articles why wouldn't the IAAO be worthy of an article? If my topic is unworthy of an article, then a lot of articles on professional organizations that grant professional designations are should be investigated for deletion as well, my article in tone and format is similar to many linked there. Information icon Hi LienEmpire! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
