What an amazing list of newspaper articles! You do not have complete information for some sources though, and aren't following Chicago citation style, nor do you use alphabetical order. That makes it hard to pick out the scholarly sources, of which I see only two (Wendy Smith; and a very incomplete reference to Michael Honey's book). A simple Google Books search reveals other scholarly studies that at least mention Ida Sledge; these are important not only for the parameters of the assignment but for making the case for Sledge's "notability." You should also look to scholarly secondary sources for context in writing the new article, meaning that academic work on unionizing and Southern industrialization would also help.
