Hey Madeline! I really liked your contributions to the Detroit Race Riot piece. Right off the bat, your attention to detail about the start and end of the riot is something that can be appreciated as the original author much more general. I enjoy your specificity. Your comment on newspaper bias is something not noted in the piece originally, but I believe it adds to the credibility of your argument. Adding citations obviously is incredibly helpful, and I believe you did that very well. Overall, I think you did an excellent job bringing validity and credibility to this article. Well done! Peer Review

Overall, I think this article is very strong. The sections are well organized, and it offers great background and insight to the race riots of 1943. There appears to be adequate placement of citations, and the material was very consistent and well written. There was good use of academic sources as well, which aided in the credibility of the information. In terms of improvement, this article could really benefit from an expansion of the section added regarding representation in the media. While there was great use of academic sources, more news sources from the period would really give the reader a feel for the conflicted climate at the time and contribute some great detail not only to that new section, but to the article as a whole. Another suggestion for improvement could be to reference more wikipedia articles, specifically in the aftermath section. This would help the reader really grasp the implications of the riots and to learn in more detail its wide-reaching effects on race relations. Keep up the good work, and the article will be in fantastic shape!Ktwilcoxson (talk) 03:21, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Something that could use some help is the aftermath. I understand the concept of Detroit as a social construct is rather difficult to bridge, but maybe talking about how this played a role in White Flight more or how it built a foundation for the race riots of the 1960s to come. Obviously these edits are up to you, but I do believe they would be interesting at the least. Lalalua (talk) 21:29, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
