To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your userpage.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the
button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
I uploaded it for use in an article about the film, with the okay of the copyright holder. However since I am confused about how to properly use it, I will not use it. Mastimido (talk) 01:28, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
Dead links
Hi Mastimido! In your recent edit to Delaware State University, you tried to "indicate dead links in citations" by including |url-status=dead
. Unfortunately, that's not what that parameter does. The parameter doesn't do anything (except generate a hidden maintenance message) if it's not accompanied with |archive-url=
and |archive-date=
. See Template:Cite web#Using "archive-url" and "archive-date" (and optionally "url-status") for webpages that have been archived for more info. I added archived URLs to those citations and fixed the layout. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 19:19, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
seeking help editing Fund for the Public Interest page
Hi Mastimido-
I work with the PIRG network and appreciate the improvement you’ve made to the PIRG page by adding information about our work on toxics in art supplies. I’m trying to update Wikipedia pages for other affiliated organizations and was wondering if you’d be willing to help me.
In particular, I’d like to propose modifying some negative information on the Fund for the Public Interest page and, because I have a conflict of interest, I don’t want to touch that part of the page without someone else’s input. If this is something you can help with, what is the best way for me to communicate with you? Should I post here? Or on my talk page? Or should I just tag you on the article’s talk page?
- You can tag me on the talk page. I did just look at the page and saw the devious footnote placement, which I moved. But I haven't studied the sources more deeply. Mastimido (talk) 14:19, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
