Final warning

welcome page
to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

Hi Deb, ok noted. When you say final warning , what does this mean?
Are we able to pay someone to do this for us correctly? Will it be approved? MattLarsonWiki (talk) 19:15, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No. You need to cease all attempts to misuse Wikipedia for self-promotion.-- Ponyobons mots 19:21, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given the conversation in the section below, you will likely find Wikipedia:Yes, it is promotion illuminating.-- Ponyobons mots 19:54, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple accounts and block evasion

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators:
IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Hi I am not trying to self promote, just add info about Matt so that people can learn more about him when they are looking for information. I didn't know that it was this difficult to have a wikipedia created. Why else do people create wikipedia's? The reasoning makes no sense behind the blocks. We are trying to do things the right way and basically getting "in trouble" for the attempt. I literally asked if we could have someone do this the RIGHT away as not to promote etc. And your answer is ridiculous in my opinion and very unhelpful. Is this how people get treated when they WANT to follow the rules? MattLarsonWiki (talk) 19:45, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're saying "Larson has established himself as a leading authority in investment real estate" is NOT promotional? Hmm okay, we'll have to agree to disagree. Also, "we"--that's not going to work in that way, nor can you really ask us to "have" someone do this the right way. If you wanted to follow the rules and contribute to this project, you could have followed the helpful links kindly provided by Viewmont_Viking in their welcome template. Drmies (talk) 19:50, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I admit to being new at attempting any wiki work at all. Which is why I asked if there were professionals that knew all the rules to help us. I just feel like the only direction is more links that didn't really fully explain how the writing was being promotional, but with your comment I can see it now. This is the information I was hoping to understand. Matt has multiple businesses and is well known in the real estate and education space although I get that we now are not able to mention that as self promotion. I guess my last question is - is it still possible in the future (even distant) to try to do this right? Are there actual professionals that know all the rules that could help so it is done the correct way? Not looking to break rules or self promote. MattLarsonWiki (talk) 19:55, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't get it: you keep saying you're not trying to break the rules, yet you want to advertise for a real estate agent, "renowned for his innovative strategies and expertise in investment real estate". We're not here to help you--we're here to help this project. What you are looking for is LinkedIn. Drmies (talk) 21:46, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't understand previously during the submissions and kept submitting, thinking that the errors were fixed. After these messages pointed out the wording and how it is promotional, I do understand now. I still in the future want to figure out how it will be possible to get a wikipedia for him though. I am just asking at this point, if it's purely possible by following the rules in a future submission, which will occur no time soon. MattLarsonWiki (talk) 22:01, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
