Copyright concerns

Hello, looking through your images, you have uploaded them as CC BY-SA 4.0 meaning that anyone can use the images, build upon, use portions of for any purpose, including commercially. This means that it can be used for product packaging, or calendar as long as it is attributed without a cent being owed to you in royalty; however, you link to your blog and website as the source. At the source, it is footnoted "Copyright © 2020 Matthew T Rader" and you're asserting they are copyrighted. Please clarify this. Graywalls (talk) 19:53, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Graywalls: Both are correct, the website and the images at the source are copyrighted, the ones that are on Wikimedia have the new copyright that overrides that copyright. Millions of websites have copyrights at the bottom of them while using non copyrighted images. That is a norm. For example Medium.com uses tens of thousands images with no copyright from places like Unsplash.com but yet their website is copyrighted. Therefore there is no copyright conflict.
Additional research is being done on this at the moment. Thank you. Graywalls (talk) 09:59, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright issues were resolved at the Commons Help Desk here: User account with copyright issues. Most of their pictures are sourced from their web page that asserts copyright notice while they're posted as creative commons here
