Very amusing!

I found a BBC report and used it to cite-justify the redirect of

Shithawk
to the Red Kite. The BBC reporter was pointing out that the beloved bird whose return to England is being celebrated was once one of the most common and commonly reviled birds in England, and which used to be called either "Shittehawks" or "Shithawks" in vulgar common Middle English, not "the red Kite". I thought that was a pretty funny edit.

I'm not proud of | this, but hope that all my thousands of vandalism reverts would be remembered before I'm too strongly condemned for it, and also, have you ever seen that movie? You'll have to admit, it's as good a referent as any article on Wikipedia for that word. Chrisrus (talk) 04:31, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the report on the shithawk, lest you think I'm making it up: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00yz3t2/Debating_Animals_Series_2_The_Kestrel_and_Red_Kite/ Chrisrus (talk) 05:53, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's some really good examples of Wikipedia humor too! Mikael Häggström (talk) 10:43, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
