Nabhit Kapur draft rejected

Hello Nomadicghumakkad,

I just saw that you deleted the draft of Nabhit Kapur because according to you it needs more independent sources WP:GNG. This draft is rejected two times and accepted one time. Every time I modified this draft and made some change according to the guidelines, added more independent sources. But you have rejected this draft again. Can you tell me what is wrong in this draft?

Moreover, there are so many articles which talked about Nabhit Kapur. And there are some independent articles which mentioned Nabhit Kapur for their work.

Looking forward to your reply. Rajveer90 (talk) 15:25, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello Rajveer90, the assesment is not based on past rejects or accepts. It is basis the current situation of the article in which it is being reviewed.
  • [1] African Integrity Prize doesn't seem to be a significant award. The article also reads promotional and influenced by Nabhit.
  • Ted website is a primary source.
  • [2] - This is an interview and hence not independent.
  • [3] Again full of praises with link to his website. Should not be counted as independent.
  • [4] Doesn't seem to be a very reliable source.
  • [5] - this is the only source that has some merit.

Rest all doesn't seem reliable sources. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 16:52, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello Nomadicghumakkad,

I don't know why it is getting rejected all times because whenever it gets rejected I carefully see the reason, work on that and make changes accordingly. Last time when it was accepted one editor rejected it right after few hours. There was a discussion on this draft and many editors consider it as a good draft though I deleted some content and added more references to make it better but this time you rejected again. Everyone has different views but I think Wikipedia has same guidelines then how it can be good draft for three or four editors and promotional for others.

If you can help me in this then it would be grateful.

Thanks in advance. Rajveer90 (talk) 21:18, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Rajveer90, a good draft means it has potential and might become notable in future. A good draft doesn't mean that it's surely ready for mainspace. I have already helped you by giving an analysis of sources. Please try to find more sources like [[6] this. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:47, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello Nomadicghumakkad,

I will see other sources and add them if they are same like The Week. One quick question, should I remove all the above references that you mentioned or you want me to add more like The Week ?

Thank you in advance. Rajveer90 (talk) 16:43, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Rajveer90 , why don't you show me the new references here first and we can analyse them together before you add at the page? About those analyed above, keep them for now as removing them will have article having unsourced content which is also bad. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:11, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Nomadicghumakkad, that's a good idea. I will share the references with you here soon.

Rajveer90 (talk) 17:20, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Nomadicghumakkad, I hope you're doing good!

I am sharing few more sources for this draft. Kindly have a look on it.

I hope you go through these links and give me your feedback so that I can resubmit it for review.

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, what about Top 100 magazine and Dani post?

Nabhit Kapur has good media coverage online, most of sources are reliable and he is a also a notable person. Rajveer90 (talk) 18:00, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Further modifications Uday Phadke

I have resubmitted a new version where I have added a number of additional sources and further information in response to your comments. I hope you are now able to approve the article.

Uday Phadke Further further comment

Dear Nomadicghumakkad

Thanks for your offer to provide pointers.

I know Uday Phadke because I worked with him briefly in 2002-4 helping to raise funds and give guidance to startups in Cambridge. I was a non exec at a Cambridge based VC fund. Through my teaching of entrepreneurship at Oxford business school, I have become aware of the work he recently did on the Triple Chasm Model, and I believe this has significant merit. Jeter1956 (talk) 13:34, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi

WP:Academic that says Criterion 1 can also be satisfied if the person has pioneered or developed a significant new concept, technique or idea, made a significant discovery or solved a major problem in their academic discipline. In this case it is necessary to explicitly demonstrate, by a substantial number of references to academic publications of researchers other than the person in question, that this contribution is indeed widely considered to be significant and is widely attributed to the person in question. Can you help me locate material that can conclude that Triple chasm is a significant new concept? Nomadicghumakkad (talk

Draft: Uwern Jong

Hi Nomadicghumakkad. As per your advice, I have now redrafted the article from a more neutral point of view, in encyclopedic format and removed all "peacocking". I have also removed all unnecessary references. I would be very grateful if you could review and suggest if I need to make any further improvements for the

article's approval. Thanks in advance and for taking the time to provide advice, appreciate it. MorganLoys (talk

Hello
MorganLoys , thank you for your rework on this. I will go through it in next few days and get back. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:28, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks Nomadicghumakkad, appreciate it. Standing by for any edits MorganLoys (talk) 07:51, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi MorganLoys, sorry I have not been so active. So let's pick it one by one:

and developed Thailand's “Go Thai Be Free” LGBTQ travel campaign, as part as the government’s strategy to attract more diverse tourists to the country. I can't find appropriate citation to this.
Jong is credited as an Editor who has been a "material player in the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights What you have cited is this [14]. Good reads is usually not a source and we can't access the book to know where and how this statement is given. May be try Google Books. Even if you can't provide an evidence of this, you can still be believed while assuming good fait.
Jong was born in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He attended the University of Warwick and completed his MA at The University of North London. Unsourced
He was Managing Director of LGBTQ+ marketing agency Boutique Marketing where he helped launched Emerald Life, the UK's first LGBTQ+ insurance specialist You have cited the company website itself which is a primary source. Also, this has started to read like a CV.

Conclusion is - first of all, let's remove all that is unsourced and try to do away with CVish things. I (and I am sure other editors) acknowledge and respect his work. But let's first focus on why he is notable because everything else is a distraction. I feel he might be notable as per

WP:Creative. Hope this is helpful. Nomadicghumakkad (talk
) 15:05, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Nomadicghumakkad - wow thank you for your feedback, and I really value you taking the time and being so patient. I will give this another go and your last advice about notability will really help. Will revert shortly. MorganLoys (talk) 16:50, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Hey Nomadicghumakkad, sorry life (and summer sunshine and being allowed outdoors got in the way. Responding to your comments above with appropriate amends. Thank you again for your feedback and patience.
and developed Thailand's “Go Thai Be Free” LGBTQ travel campaign, as part as the government’s strategy to attract more diverse tourists to the country. ––– I've added citation from the UK Travel Trade Gazette. It references OutThere as the creator of the campaign, specifically the website – so I've qualified this with "website" and clarified in line with the citation.
Jong is credited as an Editor who has been a "material player in the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights What you have cited is this [15]. Good reads is usually not a source and we can't access the book to know where and how this statement is given. May be try Google Books.}} ––– Found the Googlebooks link and preview of the actual page, so a much stronger citation all round.
Jong was born in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He attended the University of Warwick and completed his MA at The University of North London. Unsourced ––– You're right, and the only source I can find is on his CV on OutThere's website [16], which I guess is a primary source, I don't think it'll fly. On review, his birthplace and education seems somewhat irrelevant and reads like a CV.
He was Managing Director of LGBTQ+ marketing agency Boutique Marketing where he helped launched Emerald Life, the UK's first LGBTQ+ insurance specialist You have cited the company website itself which is a primary source. Also, this has started to read like a CV. ––– I agree this section reads like a CV. I've taken a lot out and softened the language, but I feel it's important to establish his credibility/journey into the LGBTQ+ and diversity world. I've removed primary/unnecessary citations.
Re your conclusion. I've done my best. I've reviewed
WP:NPERIODICAL
. Also because he is the recipient of 2020's Campaign magazine Editorial Leader of the Year award.

MorganLoys (talk) 21:59, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey MorganLoys, Good to see you back. I am very happy that you followed the feedback. I have made more changes to this. Check them and let me know what you think. I think this is ready to be accepted. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:16, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey Nomadicghumakkad - Just reviewed and I think that works! Great to have an independent eye on the final and I think it reads very well. Thank you for your contribution. Learnt a lot here. Yes, I think it’s ready. MorganLoys (talk) 07:19, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Hi, I'm Usedtobecool. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Richa Jain, and have marked it as unreviewed. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you.

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:04, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi ☎️, I didn't review it. I think when I put the notability tag, it got auto-reviewed. I nominated to speedy after that. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:09, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Yes, the "mark as reviewed" button is selected by default whenever you do something with curation toolbar. You have to remember to untick it. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 18:05, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the note Usedtobecool. About this page: should I draftify again or just wait for SPI to finish and the admins will take action? I think if I will draftify, they will just create it again maybe. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 03:11, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
It's deleted now, but for the future, you should not draftify any article twice. That would be edit-warring.Draftspace is optional and there is no community consensus for individual editors to force a topic to only come through AFC. You'd have to nominate the article at AFD and say that it should either be deleted or draftified. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 05:56, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, that makes sense, Usedtobecool. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:02, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Christian Sarkar

Dear Nomadicghumakkad

thank you for the guidelines for improving the article about draft:Christian Sarkar

I think I managed to edit it, can you look at it again?

Thanks Ivan Gurkov (talk) 19:58, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello Ivan Gurkov, give me some time to go through and recheck. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:10, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey

WP:Academic which says Criterion 1 can also be satisfied if the person has pioneered or developed a significant new concept, technique or idea, made a significant discovery or solved a major problem in their academic discipline. In this case it is necessary to explicitly demonstrate, by a substantial number of references to academic publications of researchers other than the person in question, that this contribution is indeed widely considered to be significant and is widely attributed to the person in question.. This still has promo issues and I suggest to fix the language. Nomadicghumakkad (talk

Thank you for the advice, Nomadicghumakkad, I will continue with the improvement of the article. Thanks and happy editing! Ivan Gurkov (talk)

Hey Ivan Gurkov, it will be critical that you improve it. Accepted articles can still be nominated for deletions or draftified. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:03, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

Slow down with your page patrolling

Concurring with the complaints above, you need to slow down with your new page patrolling.

This move was totally superfluous. No one is going to be convinced that India Today and The Statesman are insignificant to establish notability.

As a very new editor, you need to learn and understand Wikipedia policies first before doing these complicated tasks. Segaton (talk) 09:37, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey Segaton, the move was very much valid. The article in it's current state doesn't qualify to be notable. India Today discusses the actor and not the series. India Today Web Desk articles are very suspicious in terms or reliability. Other two are announcements. Now that you have moved it back, I will have to AFD it. Article Review

Hi sir, I have created a draft article

WP:GNG. Is it okay for main space? Kichuz996 (talk
) 13:12, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello Kichuz996, I can't find the draft. Please check again. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 05:42, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Regarding the declining of Draft:Vidhya Vinod

Hi, Nomadicghumakkad i have gone through the comment you have made on Draft:Vidhya Vinod and you states that it is likely to be churnalism, i believe it is a baseless comment because she recently achieved that position and it is a big news for south India that a women from a small town come across this height. i have found lot of other articles about her and added those too. kindly go through all the citations correctly before taking decision. thanks

I am a lady wikipedian and i am new here, moreover this is my first article, i am seeking assistance from experts like you.. just doing this for passion and wasted lot of time for research and learning.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajna Hamza (talkcontribs) 19:21, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello

WP:BASIC
. Can you help me with more similar sources that are

Not about her reaching the 100 rich list

AND

Are not trivial mentions like [18].

Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 06:00, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, What i believe is if you couldn't know to read Malayalam or tamil you can use google translator and understand the context of the content so that you can do a better feedback, in the mean time am trying my best to find more cites about her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajna Hamza (talkcontribs) 13:54, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Hey Ajna Hamza, will take your advise with a pinch of salt but turns out I was right. All these sources basically say the same thing. Looking forward to other sources that will help establish notabiltiy. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 16:12, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

No way brother Nomadicghumakkad , the titles looks similar but the contents are different, i too don't know to read tamil but i had gone through the articles with the help of translator,, and it seems different to me.

Hey Ajna Hamza, this is exactly what Churinalism is. Saying same thing all over again but in different language. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 10:27, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Hey Nomadicghumakkad, Please don't misinterpret my words i said that only the titles have little similarity but the articles are different from each other, every media said about the list because of that achievements she made that was the hot news of that moment.

I have added few more relevant cites to the draft Draft:Vidhya Vinod, can you please have a look and put your valuable feedback here??

Hi Ajna Hamza, will be very helpful if you can share the new citations here itself. Thanks! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:37, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Nomadicghumakkad As you said you don't understand Malayalam and Tamil language, so i believe you just guessed it may be churinalism, so can you please remove the comment made on the draft Draft:Vidhya Vinod — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajna Hamza (talkcontribs) 17:51, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey Ajna Hamza, I confirmed it from a different editor who speaks the local language. It indeed is churinalism. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 10:04, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, Thanks for reviewing my article for Akash Ahuja. I would love to improve if you can suggest if there are ways in which I can add more substance in it. I have all genuine coverages for the rapper and I understand when you said that iTunes can't be considered as a chart. That said, I don't think that the article should be deleted. Have put in a lot of energy to keep in mind all Wikipedia standards.Grieffindor (talk) 09:21, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey

WP:NMUSICIAN
. Having Bill boards can't, and shouldn't be, seen as sign on notability since that can happen out of marketing efforts and not merit alone. Also, saying promising signs of actually being India’s first global superstar is different than promising Indian superstar. Whenever writing praises, I feel it is best to copy them verbatim and not interpret.

He has been touring in India since 2019 and has engaged with the youth by performing in colleges in the country. is unsourced.

The link you have given for

WP:BASIC
if you are able to find 7-8 articles having at least a paragraph written about him in a neutral way in reliable and independent sources.

Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 09:59, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks Nomadicghumakkad what you have said actually makes sense and appreciate your willingness to help. I will try the best I can do to improve the article. The website "ThisIs50.com" is actually a blog which was created by rapper 50 Cent dedicated to the hip hop community. Will surely try and find more sources.
