Honorary Consul Dr. Pantelis Christian Poetis

Pantelis Christian Poetis (born 25 July 1959 in Neumünster, Germany) is the founder and CEO of the POWERGROUP, an international business consultancy.

Career: Poetis held senior positions in Management and development for several subsidiaries of Delton AG, part of the Quandt Group of companies which include BMW. Member of the Executive Committee of the German subsidiary of TBWA a top-ten global creative agency & part of Omnicom. Established the POWERGROUP via a buy-out of TBWA’s consultancy business.[1] Important public project created by Poetis and led by him for several years is Berlin Sciences, from which further projects such as Health Capital Berlin Brandeburg, Euref University for Energy, and reuse approaches for Berlin Tempelhof developed.[2] Further he is the initiator of several CSR Projects such as Die 100 ärmsten Deutschen (the 100 poorest Germans), Oper Über Leben and WORLDWIDE RESPONSIBILITY.[3]

Notable achievements: Named Honorary Consul of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for Bavaria in 2009[4] and Baden-Wuerttemberg in 2015[5]; founder and president of GATE to Pakistan, a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the Pakistani economy.[6] Holder of the Melvin Jones Fellowship of Lions International for outstanding pro bono achievements; awarded with the 'Deutscher Tafelteller' by the Family Ministers of the German Republic in 2013 and 2014, respectively, for the national and international expansion of the food bank CSR project WORLDWIDE RESPONSIBILITY. [7] Co-founder, with Patricia Poetis, of Patty’s Child Clinics, a chain of pre- and post-natal clinics for the needy in rural Pakistan. Lecturer for Brand Strategies and Marketing Concepts at Technical University Berlin.[8]

Personal life: Poetis is married to the designer Patricia Poetis and has four children. Completed his PhD after studies of law in Hamburg, Tübingen and Munich.
