Regarding anti-polonism

Greetings!
I rather write my comment on Your page than make it public. No point of forwarding opinions that are not linked to the article. I found Your first answer a bit arrogant and in defence of the article as it is. I'm not alone in my opinion about the article you defend. Maybee I used wrong words, although I tryed to be polite in my comments on the artcile. Principles of "attack is best defence" is not always the best way to go.
The overall picture of the article is not good in my opinion. I see good intensions and lot of work done and I also understand the purpose of it, although I'm bit confused about the last sections on present day. I'm not against what the article contains but the way it is written, it does not serve the couse well. From polish point of view, this article would make sence but since this is en:wiki, people from all over the world read it. They have different way of thinking, comming from different cultures, religion and so on. So from that point of view, the article can be seen and interpreted in different way. And that is the main point i wished to forward.
I would say that most of scandinavian people would react negative when reading the article, even if the information inside it is correct. They would feel that the article is aggressive and not balanced and therefore question that what is written is correct. They would also say that it is "one sided". Although Scandinavia is small part of the world, there arepeople of another nationalities that could think same. If it's so, then the article make more damage than good. Is this the purpose of the article, to discredit anti-polonism?
If the article would be written on polish wiki and read by polish people, it would certainly get more credit because most of poeple heard about the topic or subject. People from other part of the world learn history in different way and have been told different things, see and read information different. For example, all swedish believe that polish are anti-semitic. This because there are so many articles on this subject but non telling something else. This is then forwarded to next "generation" and the picture of polish being anti-semitic will remain. In the articles on sv.wiki there are articles about the pogroms. Here over all picture is clearly so that it is the polish mass that kill innocent women and children and with citation how they did it. Also, the art about the town of Kielce was in the begining written as a town that hold pogroms of judes and basically nothing else. This is creating picture of polish in a way that I believe is anti-polish. It is anti-polish because it make every polish citizen anti-semitic from start, before you are born.
In my opinion, the last section "Use of the term in a modern political context" is absolutely brilliant but it come to late. The picture that article give in the middle section make the last one overruled. The art already made the statement and the balance you find in the end will not be "trusted". The art forward comments (withn ref) from Joanna Michlic, Bartoszewski, Michnik, Gross and try to balance the rest so it will not be seens as "one-sided". Although this section fit in the article and make the article grow, the sectin in itself is very controversial becasue Michlic and Gross are often mensioned as anti-polish. The reference (130) link you to the statement about connection between anti-semitism and anti-polonism, as in the words of cardinal Glemb. However, when you read whole article (ref 130) and not just this section might possibly be concidered anti-polish in it self.
Finally in my personal opinion, the section about polish jokes destroy all the confidence that possible is still present after reading the prevouse sections. I understand the point but in my opinion, it just tell that polish have no distance and cannot take simple and stupid jokes. I mean, all nations make jokes of each others, norwegian specially about swedish and swedish about norwegian. In most they are bad jokes but nobody classify it as anti-norwegian sentiment. This section underline the rest of the article and give picture of very sensitive polish that make big deal of nothing. In this, very important message that have been forwarded before the section of jokes loose its importance.
I'm not the enemy of the article and I would be very happy if as many as possible read and trust in message inside it. I hope that you understand my good intensions and also my point of view, as I respect yours. In the end, would it not be good if russians, germans or english that read this article would comment on it in possitive way!? Best regards and gl!Camdan 12:56, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Anyway, the main thing here is to discuss the article and if we can help it to make the B-class. The article need to be rewritten in some parts but I don't wish to do that alone and without discussion with others. Your suggestions would be very useful, I read the comments in voting for deletion of the article and its clear what people react about. Also, the article is written in a bit emotional way and this is also to be found in the comments. If we can use critic voices and change article to silence them, then the job is done. Would you like to help the article? camdan 13:33, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
