Notice on categories

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you were going through several Early Cretaceous dinosaur taxa pages to add broader categories. While I appreciate these efforts, I wanted to alert you that this is not the proper method by which categories should be added to articles. In this instance, since "Early Cretaceous dinosaurs of Asia" was already on the page, it is already inherently nested within "Early Cretaceous [animals/vertebrates/tetrapods] of Asia". For Wikipedia purposes, the most specific "daughter category" is used, and the "parent categories" are not. I hope this makes sense. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. -SlvrHwk (talk) 18:04, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I was unaware. I was not finished at all so if it needs to be reverted, its not hard to do. I personally began adding them for my own sake as I felt it harder to find things i needed to when they were nested in specific areas. Though i do understand why others might not agree. I woudnt mind reverting it when i have time, or if someone has done it already, i appreciate it. Cheers! Prowlbeast (talk) 03:48, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
