Hi Colin,
I got your e-mail, and will rename the page accordingly. The only problem is that I cannot find a source for the correct name, so I don't know how that's going to hold with the powers-that-be, who require verification, but I'll take your word for it and try.
Holland's Landing
Hi - good on you for starting the article about the place in Australia, but are you sure there is an apostrophe in its name? Google maps and all the searches I tried spell it "Hollands Landing". There is another "Holland's Landing" (with an apostrophe) in South Carolina. PKT(alk) 15:42, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
- You are correct - the apostrophe in the Australian name is not present. I think the problem lies in that having deleted the referal to Holland Landing (Ontatio), I took the remaining page and inserted the Australian data. I was not aware of the SC name with apostrophe - perhaps the page originally referred to that? In any case, I'm not sure how to edit a title... Please feel free to correct the error if you can. Thanks,Ptilinopus (talk) 01:07, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Memory test! (Re: Montebello Islands)
Hi! In May 2011 you made a number of additions to the Montebello Islands page where you added coordinates using the reference: http://www.eksa.com.au/Rangelands-bmpwiki/GetFile.aspx?File=%2FKIMBERLEY%20NAP%20PROJECTS.xls&AsStreamAttachment=1&Provider=ScrewTurn.Wiki.FilesStorageProvider&NoHit=1. Sadly, I'm forced to admit I'm confused. Can you enlighten me please?
- Why do all the entries seem to have the same reference?
- I'm guessing you got the information from the "Geotags" tab page - is that correct?
Thanks in advance, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:12, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Pdfpdf, You are correct. The Geotags tab page is the source. It is the only source I have been able to find that named all the islands in the group, including the smaller one. I noted them while researching names for Wikimapia, which I was entering them in, at the time. Hope that helps. Ptilinopus (talk) 12:15, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for January 27
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ferris (name), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ferrers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks for the comment and point made. In this instance it was intended, since there is not a "Ferrers (surname)" article, unlike so many other surnames. A little surprising really, considering it is a notable English family. But the disambiguation link leads to numerous Ferrers families, and is the best link I can do, barring leaving the surname unlinked, which I didn't want to do. Just to clarify, you do realise that there's an 8 year gap between the question and your answer, don't you? Pdfpdf (talk) 14:28, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
Good catch - I did overlook that. Nonetheless, I believe my comment is relevant to the original as well as the current situation. Personal opinions aside, the current debate has thrown up a lot of distortion of this issue, and the key argument against Abbott's reinstatement of the higher honours tends to reflect the comments I responded to... So I stand by it. Ptilinopus (talk) 14:47, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
