Welcome, from Gflores

Welcome!

Hello, Qed, and

welcome
to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a

Gflores / Talk to me!

Hi. At Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 February 16, you asked "Is there an official Wikipedia definition of 'notability' that I need to look up?". Yes, there is. The basic rules are at Wikipedia:Notability, which has links to pages with rules for specific types of articles. The rules for Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) probably apply to the YouTube atheists. I hope this helps. CWC(talk) 02:53, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube atheists

Now that I look back, it's just that the links could have been organized (in a "References" or "Notes" section (as seen in bigger articles)). Sorry for any inconvenience. BTW: remember to sign your posts on talk pages.Cavenba 03:11, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another Hint

Hi. Please be very careful about calling another editor a "vandal". That word has a specific meaning at Wikipedia. Because we get so much vandalism and it's so freaking annoying, "vandal" is a very negative word here. As the Wikipedia:No personal attacks policy says, try to "comment on content, not on the contributor". That's not just the law, it's a really good idea. Cheers, CWC(talk) 07:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Qed. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the

Article Feedback Tool
in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just

drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:55, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply

Nit police

You didn't mean "light years", you meant "years" in this edit.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 23:10, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Correcting others' contributions on talk pages

QED, you're quite welcome to start commenting on long-dead discussions on talk pages, but please don't start changing other people's contributions as you did here. There may be typos in their contributions but that's their responsibility. Even changing the spacing of paragraphs makes it quite difficult for others to follow what you've done or not done and they may make mistakes. Thanks, Chris55 (talk) 11:23, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your doubts on the page are spot on. It received full /r/badhistory treatment, as it happened to one of its main sources . --80.181.77.135 (talk) 10:57, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
