Yes, it's me again...

Wherever you are, and whether you're celebrating something or not, there is always a reason to spread the holiday spirit! So, may you have a great day, and may all your wishes be fulfilled in 2009! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 14:43, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is this a combination of my Christmas greeting from 2006 and my New Year's greeting from last year? Why, it most certainly is! Hey, if it ain't broke...

Drawing help

Hi Quantockgoblin,

Congratulations or the super diagrams, particularly distillation.

I am in the business of trying to draw such things for student manuals. I have yet to find a decent software package to draw these. Any chance of a recommendation?

Many thanks, crabro —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crabro (talkcontribs) 10:53, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Crabro, Sorry for the delay, I'm not actively editing at the moment, only check in from time to time.
I find that ACD/ChemSketch (http://www.acdlabs.com/download/chemsketch/) is a good freeware program for most chemistry based drawing. It can draw molecules as well as apparartus. I do not have the latest version of ChemSketch (i.e. v.12) but ChemSketch v.10 worked quite well for me. However, I used another program to do most of the colouring-in, shading and labelling called "Arcsoft photostudio 2000" - only really because I am used to using it. I suspect it is not even available for download. In any event, I should probably should bring myself up-to-date, adapt and learn how to make .SVG images with "Inkscape", which is a general freeware drawing program used by many here on wikipedia (http://www.inkscape.org/). Hope that helps Quantockgoblin (talk) 13:46, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Service Award

I saw some discussion on the service award talk page a while back about a need for a new set of service awards so I have come up with this. I am open to just about any suggestion but please do not edit any of the templates themselves without getting permission from me first. Thanks!

Referencing

Hi, You appear to be adding the same reference to multiple pages. Normally that would not be a problem, however I am concerned with regards to the manner in which these are being added. Primarily, references are being added to things that do not make sense (such as the referencing of an image). Can you please elaborate on what you are trying to do? In the mean time I have reverted all references that I feel made no sense whatsoever (such as prev. mentioned image refs). User A1 (talk) 00:50, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion
, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A Barnstar By You!

I just ran across the Pentaspirocyclopentene Barnstar, and wanted to share my appreciation with its creator. Its design is simple, elegant, and very nice. Well done. Name Omitted (talk) 17:25, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
