Indefinite block

Since you have refused to not only stop your unsourced editing despite multiple warnings/blocks, but even to engage in any sort of discussion, you are blocked indefinitely.

Im open to removing it if you can convince me that you understand the problem and have a plan for avoiding it in the future

WP:PING when you're ready to talk. But right now it's quite clear you're not ready to be editing Wikipedia. Sergecross73 msg me 12:39, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply

Is there anyway I can avoid this problem in the future? How can I Avoid adding unsourced edits? Will any solution lift my block? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rice n Noodles (talkcontribs)

Your talk page was literally littered with people warning you and providing links to help you cite sources. Why did you ignore every single person, myself included, until now? You've outwardly shown like zero interest in addressing this over the last year or two. Sergecross73 msg me 00:54, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding sources is easier said than done. Quite a few times I’ve tried to add sources but there was either an error or they were removed. And on another note, What your definition of being convinced I understand the problem? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rice n Noodles (talkcontribs)

I believe this editor is acting in good-faith, but the overall lack of responsiveness to chronic sourcing problems raised for nearly two years (and continued unsourced editing after a temporary block) was fair grounds for an indefinite site block. One possible solution going forward would be to loosen the block and have this editor

I'm sorry but I cannot see any history of willingness to behave acceptably, nor to learn e.g. how to add sources effectively, only the opposite so far. OK, blanking one's talk page is a Wikipedian right, bordering on an inalienable human right, but to me it says a lot about attitude. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 06:51, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Will any of this actually help me improve? Also, am I allowed to blank spaces? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rice n Noodles (talkcontribs)

  • Some thoughts on things here:
  1. Yes, you are allowed to blank your own talk page. Anyone is. But you should also be aware of the message you're sending when you do it. For 2 years, editors asked and warned you to stop. And you never responded, you just deleted the message and didn't change. I mean, image this scenario: You walk up to someone at work/school/home, and ask them if they could do something. They stare at you, don't say a word, silently walk away, and never do the thing you asked. How would you feel? Some kind of sadness/disappointment/offense I assume? Well, that's what you've been doing to community members for the last 2 years. Yes, you can blank your page, but that's the sort of vibe you give off when you act like that.
  2. While I am sympathetic to the fact that it takes time to learn how Wikipedia works, adding references should not be that difficult. It certainly shouldn't be something that takes months/years. It's easily outlined at

and countless other places that you were notified of on your talk page.

I never saw it that way. I didn't know it was as bad of an issue as it has proven to be. Your probably right. I should probably take time off from Wikipedia. Rice n Noodles (Talk) 25 April 2024 (UTC)
