Sources from your Secular Buddhism draft

For your convenience, here are the sources from the inline citations in User:River-kind/Revised Secular Buddhism:

Sources from your draft

Note that Smith, Batchelor-2012, and Tate-2024 are tagged as unreliable per script User:Headbomb/unreliable.js, which you may want to install in your Special:MyPage/common.js. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 22:50, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Smith cite is to a YouTube video in which he analyzes Ambedkar's teachings and concludes they are a form of Secular Buddhism. The Batchelor and Tate references are linked to Zenodo DOI's. I believe this is why the three were deemed unreliable. I revised the link to the Batchelor and Tate articles so that they go to the Journals themselves. Smith's cite was removed, although reluctantly. Thank you for your continued assistance. River-kind (talk) 01:05, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your interests in editing

Looking over your contributions, your edits have been pretty much exclusively about

WP:COI, and see if you think you might have a conflict. If you do, that doesn't mean you can't edit the article, but there are some strings attached. Lmk, Mathglot (talk) 23:13, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply

Secular Buddhism is my primary interest, but I have no economic interest in, nor do I act as an officer or a director of, or on behalf of any outside entity whose financial interests are related to Secular Buddhism. I have, however, written an article on the topic that was published by a peer reviewed journal, which is cited in the proposed draft. If you would like me to disclose this fact or exclude the citation from the draft, I am willing to do that. The important thing for me is to improve the article and do it with integrity. Thank you for your oversight in this regard. River-kind (talk) 00:07, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply. Given what you have said, I don't think you have a COI, and therefore imho you do not need to
WP:REFSPAM) but given that you have several dozen citations in the article, citing your own work hardly seems problematic, so I think you are fine in that regard as well, and you do not have to remove it or identify yourself. (REFSPAM would be stuffing that one citation of yours into articles all over Wikipedia where it doesn't belong, and I would have seen that in your history, and clearly that is not the case.) As far as I am concerned, that matter is closed. Mathglot (talk) 04:15, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply

Thank you very much for clarifying this important issue. River-kind (talk) 04:18, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sfn's not pointing to any citation

In revision 1294006125 of your draft Revised Secular Buddhism, the short footnotes Payne-2021 and Gakhale-2021 are not connected to any full citation. You can visualize warning messages about such cases by adding the user script HarvErrors.js to your common.js file, following the instructions at User:Trappist the monk/HarvErrors. This will help you spot such occurrences in the future, so you will be able to attend to them. Mathglot (talk) 05:41, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Payne short footnote was removed, The Gakhale reference was corrected to "Gokhale." I also rewrote the introduction without references and removed the flag (referencing topics not covered in the article) after addressing that issue.
I am also setting up the HarvErros script. River-kind (talk) 10:33, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Email notification

I got a message in my 'Notices' (bell icon top of page) that you sent me an email 4 days ago, but no email was received (nor in spam folder). Not sure if Mediawiki email delivery screwed up and didn't deliver it, or the notifications are screwed up and you never sent me one, or what. If you would like a response to whatever it was, try sending it again. Mathglot (talk) 03:27, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It may have been a brief "thanks" response, or possibly telepathy as I have been thinking about writing you for advice. In reviewing the Secular Buddhism Talk Page, I see Joshua Jonathon made considerable changes to the actual article. Are we working on this together or just jumping in?
