Career stats tables

Hi there. Thanks for updating Eric Oelschlägel. Please do not add totals for single seasons in career statistics tables. I've removed the incorrect totals at Eric Oelschlägel. Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players has the layout agreed upon by editors of Wikipedia:WikiProject Football. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 18:14, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thanks for passing on, I am fairly new so I didn't know this yet! Kind regards, SapCal9719 (talk) 12:57, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Again, please have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players. The table layout you introduced at Leon Guwara had many issues, as did the order of sections. Robby.is.on (talk) 21:51, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you again. I understand your point. I had used the same table layout as the one on the Dutch Wikipedia from Leon Guwara. I'll take it into account! SapCal9719 (talk) 19:33, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

Hi. I'd like to make you aware of a few more points that might help avoid frustration on your part and on the part of other editors.

  • Your change at Leon Guwara was pretty huge. This made the changes hard to review and made it hard to revert the bad changes while holding on to the good ones. In my experience, keeping changes smaller makes collaboration with other editors much easier.
  • Footballer infoboxes count regular league appearances only – no appearances in domestic or international cups and no play-off matches.
  • Beware of
    WP:OVERLINKing
. It says to not link "names of subjects with which most readers will be at least somewhat familiar" so we shouldn't link "Germany", "Netherlands", "German", "Dutch" etc.

Robby.is.on (talk) 22:06, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I understand all these points of your advice. I didn't know about your 2nd and 3rd point, thanks for saying! SapCal9719 (talk) 17:38, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. :-) Happy editing, Robby.is.on (talk) 19:47, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2021–22 FC Utrecht season

Hi SapCal9719, thanks for your hard work in editing wikipedia. Could you please follow the wikifootball MOS when doing so though? Pre-season friendlies are not counted towards stats for goal scorers or attendance records so they do not need to be included in an infobox. Thanks. Rupert1904 (talk) 17:58, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rupert1904, no problem I like doing it. If there rules are written for of course I will follow it. I thought; maybe it is a nice addition for the info box. You're welcome. SapCal9719 (talk) 19:29, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jong Utrecht players who are also on the senior squad

I don't think the removals are appropriate. Jong Utrecht is a team playing in the Eerste Divisie. This is their squad as listed on the official site of the Eerste Divisie: https://keukenkampioendivisie.nl/teams/jong-fc-utrecht/

All the players you removed are listed as players of Jong Utrecht there. If the league the team is competing in thinks the players are members of that team, they are members of that team, otherwise what is "the current squad" is supposed to even represent. There is no limitation saying that a player has to be listed only for one squad, especially when the second squad is competing separately in a separate professional league, like in this case. What is the harm exactly in listing them in two places?

I think the removals are appropriate. That is indeed correct. I know about that official site.
It is indeed true that those players played for Jong FC Utrecht. What you mentioned here is all correct and I have no problem with that. But the page Jong FC Utrecht is about the selection in general. The players you added have played matches for the 2021-22 season. For this you have the page 2021–22 Jong FC Utrecht season. If you look here you will see that I have added the players there to the selection.

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at 2022–23 FC Utrecht season, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. As you've noted from my edit summaries, Transfermarkt is not considered a reliable source, since much of its content is user edited. Please do not restore the citations to it, and do not restore challenged material, unless you also add a reliable source to support the material question. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at 2022–23 FC Utrecht season, you may be blocked from editing. Restoring material whose verifiability has been challenged without citing a reliable source is disruptive. Do that again and you may be blocked from editing. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:56, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, my thought was that it was possible so, because before I added the amounts and link that the came from the transfermarkt it was also so mention and not deleted, my apologies. Can it be mentioned if I add a link that points to the news item on the FC Utrecht site regarding the transfer (in Dutch)? In addition, the transfers from Jong FC Utrecht to FC Utrecht (or from FC Utrecht to Jong FC Utrecht, FC Utrecht 018 to Jong FC Utrecht) are internal transfers, so no link needs to be added, right or not? SapCal9719 (talk) 17:23, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that's fine. I have no issue with the content being there, so long as it's supported by reliable sources. For Jong Utrecht, you do still need to add sources. As it stands, the article has no sources to confirm that the transfers even happened, much less what the particularities are. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:40, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. I just added the detail + reference on the page 2022–23 FC Utrecht season at Transfers. I'd love to hear if it's that good yes or no, thank you in advance. SapCal9719 (talk) 18:14, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ivar Jenner's nationality

He is Indonesian according to what it says above the season squad, "Flags indicate national team as defined under FIFA eligibility rules. Players may hold more than one non-FIFA nationality." He plays for the Indonesia U20 teams and currently represents Indonesia under FIFA. Mwiqdoh (talk) 18:32, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, sorry for the late answer. Jenner plays for the youth selection of Indonesia. He can still plays for The Netherlands. So he's nationality is The Netherlands. Only when Janner plays for for first selection and he can't play for The Netherlands Ivar can get the Indonesia flag. SapCal9719 (talk) 18:36, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
