Edits

Hi, you seem to be changing a lot of things without giving a source or proper explanation- we can't accept edits just on good faith so you'll need to provide a source for your changes in future (I'll probably be back here to question a few edits). Arniep 01:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for your opinion

Hi Saxophobia,
I saw you had contributed to the list of monacle wearers on the

Monacle page, so I think you might be interested in a move to delete List of bow tie wearers. That list could be combined with the Bow tie article, but I'm arguing that the list should stay as is. If you have any interest in whether or not that list should stay, please visit the deletion discussion (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of bow tie wearers) and throw your two cents in. MAE MURRAY

Is there any reason you keep adding back mention of her great-granddaughter? If so, please give the reason why mention of a teenager, without her surname or any other identifying bit of interest, is worthy of inclusion.Kitchawan 21:13, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stanley Cortez

Hello. Would you by any chance be able to provide a citation for the claim you inserted in his article about a year ago, and for which I put a {{cn}} tag? Thank you. Biruitorul 20:44, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't provide a citation, but I've read / heard the story several times. I know it's not encyclopedic, but it's a nice story. Saxophobia 00:02, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know it's not encyclopedic - ah, but there's the rub, no? Well, it is a nice story, and before doing anything with it, I will try to find some source for it. Thank you. Biruitorul 00:24, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Flanders / ZBS Foundation

Hey! I noticed you made some edits on the various Jack Flanders pages! Always happy to meet another fan! Also, just in case you didn't know about it, I wanted to invite you to the ZBS fan page/discussion board. http://whirlitzer.org/ There are some good people on there if you want to chat about things ZBS or just anything in particular. Hope to see you! MightyAtom (talk) 15:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pass vs. Password

Sax... are you sure about the Standard Work in NY? ... I only ask because I have seen the degree work in most of the lodges in my district, and I seem to remember them saying "Had he the Password?". I am not saying you are wrong... just saying that "pass" does not match my recollection.

I can't compare with what is done in my lodge (Holland Lodge No. 8 in NYC) as we don't use the Standard Work. I do know that Holland's version of the Middle Chamber Lecture (which I am told is very close to the Standard Work) talks about giving "a pass or token of a pass" at one point... and about giving "the Password of Fellowcraft" at another point. So perhaps both pass and password is used in the Standard work as well? (just asking for my own info... I am facinated by ritual differences). Blueboar (talk) 03:01, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Y'know, I'm going by memory and at 52 that's not always reliable. Plus I'm the ersatz lodge organist & more concerned with looking over my shoulder in a mirror and timing music to perambulations than to the exact words sometimes. I'll have to look in my book.Saxophobia (talk) 17:12, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't go out of your way... I was just curious.
Besides, few will really notice or care whether the Senior Deacon says Pass or Password (except a few ritual nuts like myself)... but if the organist hits the wrong chord? Oof! ... you have vital and far tougher job in making a degree go well. On behalf of those you see in your mirror... Thank you, and all your collegues, for your music. :>)

To wrap up this thread, I've examined my copy of the Standard Work and it says: Hs h th pw. I stand corrected, mea culpa. Saxophobia (talk) 22:07, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
