Welcome

Hi there, and welcome to Wikipedia. I've taken a look at Joy Tiz, and feel I should point out a few things:

  • One of the cornerstones of Wikipedia is
    reliable sources
. So when you mention that your subject has been discussed by prominent individuals, it is best to seek out the source and reference the actual article or transcript where this has taken place. Simply referencing an author's bio really won't do, because these don't meet the standard for reliability, as they are usually written by the authors themselves or someone closely affiliated with them.
  • I have removed (twice now) material that has been copied verbatim from copyrighted websites. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept
    copyrighted works
. Please write content in your own words.
  • I also removed the Amazon.com links, as they are selling the author's works and therefore qualify as
    spam
. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and should not be used as a vehicle for promotion.

The next best step would be to find reliable sources (news articles, etc.) that discuss your subject, incorporate the information (but not the exact text) into the article, and properly reference it.

WP:Referencing for beginners is a good place to see how to properly format references here. Cheers, Steamroller Assault (talk) 08:27, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply
