Fair use rationale for File:Bhagwan Gopinath.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to

fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale
.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 05:54, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I was actually in the process of doing that while you sent the message.I have added the rationale now. thnx Sharda Mandir (talk) 07:43, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page titles

Hi, and thank you for

cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history
, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the

Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. R'n'B (call me Russ) 11:01, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply

Hi Russ, thanks for your message. First of all I want to assure you that the apparent "
cut and paste
move" is actually not a cut and paste move. Though some of the resources used by the previous contributor happen to be the ones even I have used, it unfortunately gives an impression that its a cut and paste move. However, regarding the move feature - I have to admit I wasn't aware of it until couple days back and as such used a redirect on Gopinath Bhan page. Earler, I had tried looking for the current title and all other searched names on wiki but couldn't find it initially. Later when I did find Gopinath Bhan I wasn't very excited because this is not an oft seached string either on wiki or on google. Also when I read through the article, I couldn't help but understand why it was categorised as a stub so I created the new page under a different title based on wiki policy of giving titles (WP:AT). So Thanks for moving Gopinath Bhan to Bhagwan Gopinath.
My only issue however, is that in moving the old templates to the new talk page, wouldn't you agree it shouldn't be categorized as stub anymore? If you do, I think it would be justified to modify the template accordingly and either mention explicitly that the older version of this page under the title Gopinath Bhan was categorized as a stub and also nominated for deletion or remove that form its talk page as it creates a confusion for a new reader as it did for me. • Hi, yes, I agree this article should not be classed as a stub any more. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 00:17, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I just wanted to get back to you regarding the above referenced article. While I haven't been online much in the past couple of weeks, I've peeked in on your work on the article. Honestly, I think you're doing a great job! I am sincerely impressed with your ability to quickly grasp and understand Wikipedia's often confusing web of policies and guidelines. A review of your work is a clear reflection of your commitment to excellence and an indicator that you are on the right path. And a value to the Wikipedia community. I'm still hanging around every now and then. If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Happy editing! Cind.amuse 11:15, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Cindy, many thanks for the message and those kind words. While the 85 degF made my day today, your message seemed like an icing on the cake. And frankly, I owe much of this to you because had it not been for your critique, I'd probably not have made it this far so soon! So thanks again! And hey, I was wondering if there is any section you'd like me to look at a little closer or any pointers that'll help me take it further. With Best Regards...
