RE: Aamir Khan's Blog

(4/2/2008) Shshshsh, I have put back the link to Aamir Khan's blog - http://www.aamirkhan.com/blog.htm. As mentioned before in my edits, I am not a spammer. I am just a fan of Aamir Khan. If you feel that the link should not be on the Aamir Khan page, let's discuss. I do not know if you have read the blog, but it is on his official website. And from the posts, it is definitely Aamir who is writing the blog. Thanks - Maisnam —Preceding unsigned comment added by Maisnam (talkcontribs) 07:26, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(4/2/2008) Shshshhsh, I am sorry that your reverted my edit without any discussion. You mentioned that if an actor writes his/her own blog, it is not important enough to be put in the External Links section. What you are saying is not true. The Wikipedia page about hollywood actor Alec Baldwin has a link to his blog. Please point me to any Wikipedia guidelines which say that an actor's blog cannot be on the External Links section of the Wikipedia page. --Maisnam (talk) 20:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(4/4/2008) Shshshsh, I have not heard back anything from you yet. I am going to add the link to Aamir Khan's blog back. If you have any concerns, please discuss on your Talk page or contact me before removing the link. I hope we will respect each other's opinion. Thanks. --Maisnam (talk) 01:43, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shahid what I typed on Amisha's page was not mindless gossip. I actually got the info from glamsham.com. They recently posted an article regarding Amisha's absense from the press release of YashRaj's new movie! As far as Im concerned that is news related to the movie! Thankyou.

I will try my best to do so. My exams will be beginning in about 2 weeks and I have some papers due at the end of this month too. I will be making very few visits on Wikipedia just to revert vandalisms (You can notice by my edits that I have been doing only that for the past couple of months) but don't worry everything will be fine when you come back. :) --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:49, 23 March 2008
Shahid, I have a question about the BollySpice Awards. I know that you said that it is unreliable but those awards are chosen from votes by the public as well. This is what it says: "After the overwhelming work of days and nights, our members put together a list of nominations with the help of our panel of judges. The list was based on the quality of the films and their success at the box office. These nominations were then put forward in online polls in our forum. Around five thousand votes were collected in the the time span of one month and the winners were declared today." What do you say?? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:54, 23 March 2008
BollywoodSargam??? Did you mean RadioSargam?? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 15:23, 24 March 2008

Hey buddy, thanks for your kind words!! I really appreciate what you did with the article. With your edits, that section has improved a lot. Basically for that section, I had the first paragraph for the film, the second for the performances, and the third for the director and the chemistry between the lead pair. That's why, I think that there were so many of each reviews. LOL. BTW, I thought that you were on a trip. What happened?? --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 02:08, 29 March 2008

LOL, I know that it is still divided into the three sections but your version is way better than mine. LOL. Sounds like you had a great time on your trip; sounds really interesting. =) --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:00, 29 March 2008

I don't understand why people have to keep editing an FA article. The version that was there earlier today was so much worse than it was several months ago. All it needs is to be condensed taking heed of neutrality and to highlight the main points. In fact it angers me when I see great articles eroded

I was about to, but I fear that there will be some outrage and an edit war. You can't degrade an article like that its terrible. If it is to be cut it is to be done properly and within neutral grounds so that the bulk of the information relayed isn't taken out. It would be fairly easy to shorten it considerably and retain much of its content and balance.

Now nearly 40 years on, to expect to be able to obtain a free image of her as an old woman which has no relation to her past career is yes quite ridiculous. With regards to your deletion with the reason of unsourced comments, please see reference that says the following URL:

Television artiste Gracie Singh (of Amanat, ZEE TV) was chosen over established stars like Nandita Das, Rani Mukherji and Sonali Bendre for the female lead.

Secondly, please see this URL that says:

Besides Shah Rukh, I approached Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan He loved the film, but when I had gone to him with my proposal they were planning to launch him with JP Dutta -- it was a career move they had to make. I think they were right in those circumstances. If he had done this, it would've become his launch film. I think he would've played it differently too.

The second of the above, could however, be rephrased for sure. You may want to revert your edits. Mspraveen (talk) 15:16, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The names of these actresses, which I did not notice, have been re-added. As for the second one, the sentence I think he would've played it differently too. does not imply that the other actors "might not have played the role better than Aamir". It means that they would have played the role differently, not better.
Also, I noticed your last edit. You replaced the word "and" with "which", which implies that the mentioned "plus" is Gracy Singh's time, and not Gracy herself.
ShahidTalk2me 15:29, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In response, I'd say that I understood his answer to me saying that he was very glad to know that Gracy could afford all of her time and that made his task all the more easier. So, in fact in that interview, he was referring to her time. Don't you agree? Mspraveen (talk) 14:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The following images for which I tagged Di-no license template on these image description pages Image:Waheeda Rehman.jpg and Image:Raakhee Gulzar.jpg, I noticed that you have removed these tags. In fact, the tag says that:

Please do not remove this tag. Note if you believe that a free replacement image cannot be reasonably found or created please add one of the following without removing this tag

I further wish to tell you that the

CSD as it fails the first criteria that states that a free replacement could be found. Mspraveen (talk) 15:01, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply

Hmm...I'm not quite sure your rationale explains this in detail. Though you write in detail, for a living person a rationale like you said on my talk page can be provided as your reason below that di tag. Let the admins decide. This images are a tricky issue. As far as I see, a free replacement can be found. Thoughts? Mspraveen (talk) 15:15, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As an addition to what I said before, you may see Jessica Lange. Though, she was at her prime in her hey days, there is no image on her page coz of wikipedia's image policies that encourage free content. Mspraveen (talk) 15:18, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but I think it would be quite inappropriate of you deleting these tags and instead you should consider providing your reasoning and let the admins decide. I'm tagging them, including that of Babita, back with di-fair-use template. Please make sure you provide your reasoning appropriately. I hope that your thoughts are true and these images can be retained, but lets wait and watch. Mspraveen (talk) 15:25, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! I'm sorry. I must have overlooked one image maybe. That was not my intention anyways. I was removing the images from the actor pages wherever I felt inappropriate. I'll watch out anyways. Mspraveen (talk) 15:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What could be done to debate the use of the image in the actor page? Suggestions? If you were to ask me, I would remove it because I feel that it violates first criteria of fair use. You would provide a reasoning for its use. But, this predicament will remain, wouldn't it? Mspraveen (talk) 15:53, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Did that already! :) Yes, thanks that you agreed to my thoughts. Mspraveen (talk) 15:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IndiaFM
images

Hey Shahid, how are you doing buddy?? I am practically done University. Now, I just have to finish my exams, which begins in about two weeks. After that, I am free. =) LOL. Anyways, remember I told you that there was some good news before. The good news is that the

IndiaFM licence has been cleared. When I first told you and Blofeld that I was going to get in talks with IndiaFM for their images, Blofeld told me to get in contact with Riana, which was what I did after getting the agreement with them. Riana then created the licence for me, which can be viewed here
. After that, I was in constant contact with the makers of IndiaFM informing them about the licence and everything. After that, Riana sent our conversations to OTRS. I am so happy that this is finally solved and we know have images for Bollywood articles.

Note: Read the licence carefully. To avoid the mess like what was the case with the Bollywood Blog images, we have to upload images in batches, for e.g. three-four images. BUT it must first have to pass through the OTRS system. You have to e-mail them at "[email protected]", providing the links of the pictures from the IndiaFM website. After they notify you that everything is okay, you can then upload the images onto Wikipedia. BTW, when sending an e-mail to OTRS, you have to store the ticket number in the subject of the e-mail (which the members of OTRS created to distinguish between things) and refer to it when sending them the images to process. I will send you that via e-mail. If you have any questions regarding this matter, feel free to let me know. Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 16:21, 1 April 2008

IndiaFM images. What do you think of them?? Since we have to send images in batches, I already uploaded the first batch. I am getting ready for the second batch (Karisma Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, etc.) Are you still looking for more images on Zinta's page. If so, let me know, so I can put both of ours together and send an e-mail to OTRS. You can find them and send me the link to the images. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk
05:42, 14 April 2008
We need to upload images in small batches so it would be easier for the people in the OTRS system. User:Riana recommended to do it like that instead of sending one image at a time. She explained that they're really busy so it would be more appropriate to do it like that. As for uploading the images, anyone can do it as long as the instructions are followed. Do you get the long procedure?? Are you still looking for more images on Zinta's page. If so, let me know, so I can put both of ours together and send an e-mail to OTRS. You can find them and send me the link to the images. --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 16:06, 14 April 2008

Bollywood and Criticisms...

I brought back one sentence from the old revision... which is the sony's copyright infringement case on Bollywood. Search for [1] in google and you will get atleast one full page of relevant results. I've cited from four different sources, including Economic Times.

This is what I've added...

However, Sony Picture and Overlook entertainment is considering to sue Bollywood's Eros Entertainment and Sohail Khan's K Sera Sera for 30 Million US Dollars for copyright infringement on their English movie Hitch[1][2][3][4].
