Studio JFISH article
I've added the "{{
Studio JFISH fixes?
I went and edited most of the content on my article, I realized after citation that it was a little too boast-full/personal. I tried to aquire the help of the suggested articles for citation and such and I don't understand what else I can do for keeping my article in the system. Do I have to become much more popular to the general public before I can be within Wikipedia? I would like to be a part of this so please let me know what I can do.
Thanks, User:Studio JFISH 13:19, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- No, actually boastful and personal aren't the issues. It's all about notability. Read through WP:AFD system if you do - but then others will have a chance to weigh in as well. You might also want to read WP:VANITY. In general, X is notable if someone else says it is, not if X itself says it is. This is an encyclopedia, not an advertising space and, when someone adds an article with a name that matches their user name, it's usually a red flag that they're looking for an advertising space. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. I'll add the welcome message at the top here to get you started in the right direction - you're more than welcome to stay and contribute articles on notable topics. —Wknight94 (talk) 22:12, 24 May 2006 (UTC)]
- Does it help at all that I am on the website for Alternative Press Expo exhibitors? I guess I'm having a hard time understanding the big picture of what's required in staying on. Do I basically need more people talking about me, such as independent reviewers talking about my book, or interviews online, things to that extent? Does it take someone else starting a Wikipedia entry about Studio JFISH because I have now reached such popularity and noteriaty? I think I got it figured out with all that. If I were to get a review from someone more notable within the next couple of days would that be enough to stay on? --Studio JFISH 04:09, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- I forgot about this too, pictures at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles of me at my table with Felipe Smith, signing and passing out JFish #1's here. Let me know if this is enough to stay in. Thanks, --Studio JFISH 04:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- For your first link, are any of the other exhibitors on Wikipedia? For the second link, it seems to be broken. For an answer to your other questions, I'll refer you again to the comments at WP:N. In general, yes, it would take other influential people or groups talking about your subject. —Wknight94 (talk) 10:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)]
- The AFD is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Studio JFISH. —Wknight94 (talk) 11:00, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

- As for the list, there are several others in Wikipedia. Oni Press(who is the publisher for Corey Lewis and Bryan Lee O'Malley), Giant Robot (magazine), Last Gasp, Top Shelf Productions and those are just a few of the hundred that I recognized, there could be even more listed on Wikipedia as well. As for the second link, it works fine for me, it links the the site for the well known Meltdown Comics store in Los Angeles. They had me at a table with Felipe Smith, creator of MBQ, signing my comics and giving them to people on Free Comic Book Day. Trying again, the link is here, hopefully of which you can open now because it features pictures of me with my tangible comic in view next to Felipe Smith and it mentions right at the top: "Thanks to everyone for making Free Comic Book Day 2006 so awesome! Thank you, Mr. Brian K. Vaughan, Felipe Smith, J Fish and of course all the fans that turned out." So, I am hoping that answering these two questions from you will help my case a little more.
