die Habsburger Unterlippe

My comment left at Marie Antoinette talk page:

Succubus MacAstaroth: Why change from *lip* to *jaw* since both are correct in the description of maxillary prognathism? Here is an excerpt from the

Habsburg jaw
The condition colloquially is known as Habsburg jaw, Habsburg lip or Austrian Lip (see Habsburg) due to its prevalence in that bloodline.[4] The trait is easily traceable in portraits of Habsburg family members.[...]

In German, it is called Habsburger Unterlippe http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habsburger_Unterlippe, and in French lèvre autrichienne.
Habsburg jaw sounds so harsh! If you want to change, then why not use the more scientific prognathism or maxillary prognathism? If not, then put *lip* back. Franiahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_Mythos W. (talk) 15:54, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Succubus: This is what I left on MA talk page:
By the way, are not both "Habsburg jaw" & "Habsburg lip" euphemisms for "mandibular prognathism"?
Before writing the above comment, I checked the wiki article on
Habsburg jaw, which brings you directly to the section Mandibular prognathism (progenism) in the Prognathism
article, in which it is stated: "The condition colloquially is known as Habsburg jaw, Habsburg lip or Austrian Lip[...]". Please note the word "colloquially" in front of the three appellations, while the non-colloquial expression is "mandibular prognathism". So, colloquially speaking, my lip seems to have as much right to be as your jaw ! (^+^)
The reason of giving the various German names -which I should have put in a footnote- was only to show what the condition is called in that language, which happens to be close enough to English for en:wiki readers to understand. MA was from a German-speaking country, so inserting a German expression that describes her condition could not be too foreign to the subject.
Now that we had our little discussion, please feel free to revert to what you prefer. This is not something for which I would go to war.
Best to you, Frania W. (talk) 04:34, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Succubus: Please go to Marie Antoinette article & let me know if the change I made resolves our disagreement. Be sure to chek footnote n° 17. Enjoy your weekend! Frania W. (talk) 14:06, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oingo Boingo

Oingo Boingo's popularity grew until my brother Danny Elfman, disbanded it in October 1995, so he could focus on film composing, as well as problems with "rock" related hearing loss. No, the band was never a "pop" group. But it could only be considered "New Wave" during a few years around 1980. After that the music evolved and was often too quirky to classify within a rock sub-division.Richard Elfman (talk) 00:55, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We should be careful. Does it developed a brain or nervous system already? Do you agree the boiling pain is not worth the taste? Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited WAQI, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Castro (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sorry my summary wasn't clear enough. An IP had made the exact same edit as yours a week prior, so I just said ditto, but I should have explained it more clearly. See

allophonically before nasal consonants, so the correct letter to emphasize is "i", not "n". Japanese already has [n], which unlike [ɰ̃] can appear in syllable-initial positions and is also the realization of /N/ before alveolar occlusives, and so the key lists it separately from [ɰ̃]. It doesn't make sense for the key to have two sounds exemplified by English /n/. And just in general, it is advisable to open up a conversation on a talk page instead of reinstating your edit, especially if you don't understand why your edit was reverted. I have reverted the following unsourced claim put in Alcoholics Anonymous:

[One can work the AA program] as long as a belief in a god similar to the
Abrahamic god
is held (namely, a god able to answer prayers and interested in the good of individual humans)

This claim is

original research, and I haven’t found a reliably sourced article written in response to The Irrationality of Alcoholics Anonymous which says that one needs an Abrahamic God to work the AA program. The referenced article, which yes references The Irrationality of Alcoholics Anonymous says the opposite, and I can not find a reliable peer reviewed article making this claim, but have found peer reviewed articles refuting the claim, such as this one
which, again, states the opposite.

You’re welcome to edit Alcoholics Anonymous, but please back up any contentious claims with references from reliable sources, as per Wikipedia policy. SkylabField (talk) 01:26, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
