Hi. Please note that

Wikipedia is not a playground or a free webhost
; we allow a certain amount of frivolity and experimentation within userspace, but this "fantasy Survivor league" thing you're running here is just not acceptable. It wouldn't be acceptable even if you were participating in the project... and you're not.

If you find the Wiki interface useful, you may wish to download a free copy of the MediaWiki software and run it on your own machine.

I'll give you five days to save any and all pages from your userspace that you want to keep; after that, I'm going through and deleting the whole thing. DS (talk) 14:20, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "So I got rid of the stupid articles, and even though I don't see who, exactly, I'm harming by making a separate page away from everything else that doesn't interfere with any other activity on the wiki, you can go ahead and delete them all you want. I'm sure you'll take great pleasure in doing so."

And might I suggest being a little less patronizing next time?"

To address your points in no particular order: I take no particular pleasure in deleting user subpages. It's tedious and takes time that could be better spent fixing articles. I do it because it's the responsible thing to do.

"I don't see who I'm harming" - here are some things to consider. Firstly, allowing you to run your fantasy Survivor league in userspace sets a bad precedent.

Wikipedia:User page
explains it in greater detail.

Also, consider that Wikipedia pages very often get copied and rehosted all over the world. This includes userpages. The content you posted may already be mirrored by sites over which neither you nor Wikipedia has any control. I noticed that you're playing with lots of people's real names. Are you sure that they're okay with having their names associated with your game/fiction? What if they change their minds somewhere down the road?

As for being patronizing: my apologies. DS (talk) 17:42, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
