While canvassing antipathetic votes is allowed - as it has obviously been the case given the whole story, is allowed? I could show there is strong suspicion for that. I applaud : powerful stuff!! Besides I shall add I did not "canvass sympathetic votes" : if you read my message I was careful to stay neutral, just warning him a page he participated into was going to be possibly deleted - I think it should be standard procedure in such a case - but thus letting him the possibility to vote for its deletion!
