New username

Hi. I wanted to let you know that the way you chose a new username isn't the preferred way of doing it. Its kind of complicated, but you basically created an article named User talk:TangoTango...and because its an article and not linked to your username you don't have the links in the "toolbox" below like "User contributions", "E-mail this user", etc. If you had many contributions that you wanted to hang onto, I would have suggested having a bureaucrat change it but I think considering you only have two non-deleted edits you might just go and register a new name.

I also wanted to ask you if you would consider choosing a different new name than TangoTango. There already is a user Tangotango, and while the usernames are different enough to allow TangoTango to be created it might lead to confusion between your edits. You aren't required to choose a different name, though.

I removed the redirect the other talk page for now because I wanted to make sure that you got the "you have new messages" bar when you logged in next.

Thanks for your understanding. --Syrthiss 15:53, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Improvement to Tangobots

Hi,

This is a suggestive improvement to the Tango bot, which tells users when there is an article on the Talk Page, on the wikipedia-en-help IRC channel.

When it shows that a new article is on, consider linking to the ACTUAL article, so that users don't need to look at the contents or scroll down or waste time locating the article. What do you think?
