Dong Ying (董颖), born in Gansu, China. Chinese Sheng player at the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and ConTempo Ensemble Beijing. Ying has appeared as soloist with Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Nationaltheather Mannheim Orchestra, Korea National Traditional Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and so on. She gave masterclasses and seminars in Japan, korea, Denmark, Germany, Mexico and many other countries.

Dong, Ying, sheng player at China Radio Chinese Orchestra and ConTempo Beijing. She studied with Prof. Shoucheng Yang and Hua'en Yue. Ying was the first female Chinese wind instrument student who received Master of Music degree from the Central Conservatory of Music. She is the Executive Director of Sheng Association under China Chinese Traditional Music Association and a member of Chinese Musicians' Association.

Ying has performed in many countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa, both as soloist and chamber player, especially contemporary music with various instrumentations. She also gave masterclasses and seminars about Chinese traditional music and Sheng in China, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Germany and Mexico.

She performed and recorded with Lim Pyung-Yong, Liu Wenjin, Lü Shao-chia, Peng Jiapeng, Lihua Tan, Jean Thorel, Yasushi Inada, Zhang Yi and so on. Including many premiere works with international composers.

Ying released her live solo album with China Record Shenzhen in 2010. Her solo and chamber playing can be also heard in many other albums, include "和"(Harmony)Gyeonggi Traditional Orchestra, "Whispers of a Gentle Wind" by China Record Shenzhen, and many others. She has also done studio recordings for movies. In 2017, she was presented as one of the major roles in the documentary series, called "China: Time of Xi" on the Discovery Channel.
