NCSH SVG's

Yeah, I didn't get to read it before archived. Sorry about that. Actually yes, we were trying to get some SVG's for North Carolina highways. NORTH took up the project, but he couldn't get any to work correctly, so he gave up. If you could help us out, that would be great. --TinMan 04:29, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Also in need of PA Shield 662

I'll need a shield for PA 662. The article has yet to be created, but it's on the termini list for PA 12. We have a new editor coming in and making some new pages (thankfully following convention). They're pretty rough, but it's a good start. --myselfalso 19:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Yet another shield

Well, now that an infobox road for Pennsylvania Route 10 has been written, a shield for Pennsylvania Route 472 is necessary. Also, could someone from the Maps Task Force who can make a map create one for Pennsylvania Route 39? PA 39 is currently the only Pennsylvania Route article to have B-class status. I'm hoping to upgrade that to GA status (I think that's what it's called), and by doing so, have a map included. Thanks! --myselfalso 06:28, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Assessments

Why is Interstate 490 (New York) rated as B-class while Interstate 590 is rated Start-class? They appear to both have the same information provided. Powers T 14:34, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Harrisburg Area Roads

Hey, I know you don't live in Harrisburg, but I am

WP:HbgAR, the Harrisburg Area Roads WikiProject. I want to focus on creating articles for roads that fall under the quadrant route numbers in the Harrisburg area. If you're interested let me know! I noticed you'll be gone for a few days; I'm in no rush to hear back. Thanks! --myselfalso

Hey, nice job on the WPHbgAR userbox. I was creating it at the same time as you! --myselfalso 03:17, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Map requests

I could use maps for NY 104B and NY 481 — both short stretches of highway starting in Oswego county, but I'm scared of images. Can you help? ubiquity 03:36, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Assessment

Ha, I didn't realize when I asked for your help with the map that you were also the person who assessed the article (New York State Route 104B). You rated it "start" but to tell the truth, with a road that short (6 miles) passing through one county, no large population centers, and uniform countryside, I don't know what else you think could be added besides the map. Please let me know. Thanks. ubiquity 03:41, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

OK, I enhanced the description, and also added a note. See what you think. ubiquity 11:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I took a look at the article, and left a comment here. --myselfalso 12:15, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

What would you use...?

Would you use the NYS template for the Parkway infoboxes? Is this why you keep tagging articles for cleanup? Just needed some clarification, thanks!! Crispy1995 21:05, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

PA Routes List

Hey, I just

updated my PA Routes List. I added a good number of {{cleanuppash}} templates to a number of PA routes created by Jjc104 (talk · contribs). Also, I was thinking about renaming the PASH stub template to something shorter than {{Pennsylvania-State-Highway-stub}}. Perhaps {{pash-stub}}? I'll put something on the project talk page about that. --myselfalso
02:31, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

I added {{cleanuppash}} and {{pash-stub}} to Pennsylvania Route 100. I left this on PAWiki's talk page as well. --myselfalso 12:47, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

I split off the page with

U.S. Route 48 in West Virginia. I moved relevant information, references, links, and introduction to the page to simplify U.S. Route 48. Should the US route and ADHS table be on the new page for WV or is that considered duplicate? Seicer (talk) (contribs

Re: Old PNG US Route shields

No, not at all. They've been superseded, so they can be deleted immediately. -- Denelson83  05:45, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Infobox road

I've noticed that you've updated the template instructions lately... would you mind doing so for {{Infobox road}}? Thanks. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 23:00, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

North Carolina highway shields

Can you make a , as that's the only route that ends at the Virginia state line without an SVG shield? Thank you. --NE2 17:53, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks much. It's in
State Route 119 (Virginia). --NE2

Hey, another article has been

Progress Avenue (Harrisburg). It still needs a quadrant sign though. The number is SR 3015. --myselfalso

New York State Route 454 Sourced Statements

Thanks for fixing those "sourced statements" on my New York State Route 454 page. What I want to know is how you were able to do it. I tried it and it didn't work for me.

DanTD 1:27, 29 September 2006 (EST)

Here's a basic explanation of the not-so-basic reference system (trust me, I messed up quite a few times before I got the hang of it). To insert a footnote/reference, enter <ref></ref> by typing it manually or clicking its entry in the box below the "Do not copy..." warning. Next, for an external link, type a pair of brackets ([]) to make <ref>[]</ref>. For an internal link, use <ref>[[]]</ref>. Next, enter the link as you would normally enter the link. For example: <ref>[http://www.example.com Example Site]</ref>, <ref>[[:Image:Example.jpg|Example Image]]</ref>, <ref>[[New York State Route 135]]</ref>. Hope that helps. Re: shields

Oregon has a weird inconsistent mixture of GIFs and PNGs, and those I've actually begun to make myself. If you would be willing to make West Virginia shields, that would be wonderful. It appears that it's a simple rectangle -- the main difference between it and the Connecticut/RI/Massachusetts/etc. shields is that the black border is flush with the edge of the shield, rather than having a second white border around it.

Two-digit shields are square (Image:WV46.png is incorrect), three-digit shields are rectangular.

I've decided that West Virginia is at the bottom of my priority list (first Oregon, then CA/WA/NJ, then the other states I signed up for, then WV), but will still happily create the WikiProject when the time comes. -- NORTH talk 16:10, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Can you create a blank WV state shield for the
West Virginia State Highways page? Also, what program do you use to create the shields? Thanks! Seicer (talk) (contribs
) 00:29, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! I need to create some for Kentucky, as it has a ton of missing shields. Seicer (talk) (contribs) 13:57, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

WV State Highway Shields

Hello TMF. I worked very hard on the WV 2 shield and made sure it looked correct. I was wondering if the reason why you want to delete my shields is because they are not in SVG format? If so what program do you use for your shields? I tried to upload the WV 3 shield in SVG format using Inkscape, but after I uploaded it, it was blank. Thanks. The Punk 17:19, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Greetings. No, my reason for listing your shields was not because of the format - it was because I had created shields for every route in the WV highway system last night in the format "WV-X.svg". I used Inkscape to make all of the shields, so there may have been a slight glitch in your SVG that caused it to appear blank. Regards, TMF T - C 17:35, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Ohio SR moves

Hey there – just wanted to give you a progress report. I'm about 25% done with the moves (already) on the Ohio route pages! I have a table at my user page which shows "new," "old," and "P2 redirects," so I can see what's there. You're probably busy elsewhere, but I wanted to share the table with you in the off-chance that you are wanting to help. No pressure whatsoever. At the rate I'm going, I'll probably have it done in a few days anyway. Happy moves! — Homefryes SayDo 12:47, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Oh, heck – I was on a roll, and got them all done. Didn't take too long, really. — Homefryes SayDo 15:29, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Yet more PA shields!

Here's what I need: . It's for the Pennsylvania Route 363 infobox. There isn't PA 364 or 365. And take a look at Pennsylvania Route 24. There's a number of shields required on that page. Don't forget this shield, , either!--myselfalso 02:42, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

First article

The first article has been written!

See Colonial Road (Harrisburg). It is currently a stub. It needs some kind of infobox as well as a quadrant route sign, like the below image.

New York State Route 481

What are you planning there? I think it's pretty much complete as it is. I cleaned up the list of intersections (reversed their order) and added some interesting stuff about its designation. Since your "editing" notice went up while I was in the middle of an edit, please don't accidentally revert the work i did. thanks. ubiquity 20:09, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

The only work I have planned is to reformat the article so that it meets
WP:NYSR standards. Don't worry, I was working in a couple of sections not affected by your edit, so it won't get reverted. --TMF T - C
20:14, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, my cleanup of the article is now complete. Feel free to resume editing. --TMF T - C 20:39, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

About that user

I posted some comments. Harsh but what can we do? Compromise the integrity of the PASH articles? --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 04:59, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I think the comments were fair and definitely appropriate for the situation. This user has tested the patience of both Myselfalso and myself, and both of our patiences have run out. I've also posted a reply to the Village Pump. --TMF T - C 05:10, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
So go ahead and block? --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 05:16, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Go ahead. I have no objections. --TMF T - C 05:18, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I blocked, leaving a long note at the talk page. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 05:30, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Maps

The good thing is that that NC crud settled down, but what happened with the maps? Since I don't contribute in the maps area I'm not aware... --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:04, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Instead of attempting to give a quick synopsis of what went down at the MTF, I'll give a couple of links. The first is immediately after NE2 joined the MTF and criticized the proposal for map designing that was (and is) supported by consensus: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_U.S._Roads/Maps_task_force#Legend.2Fmap_design_proposal_voting. The second is a bit of after-the-fact criticism of a map of NY 481 by NE2, during which he admitted that he will not make maps as specified by the MTF standard: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_U.S._Roads/Maps_task_force#NY_481_map. --TMF T - C 03:46, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm concerned. We may have more problems in the future like this. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree with you 100%. We may as well enjoy the peace while it lasts for right now, as it's anyone's guess as to how long it will last. --TMF T - C 04:06, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
This page exists. Should we say something? --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 20:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I definitely think something should be said about the mess at
WT:USSH yesterday and the map issues linked above, but I'm not sure of how it should be said, if you know what I mean. --TMF T - C
21:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I guess like in a NPOV way and not being too personal? --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 21:20, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that'd be our best bet. That way, there's absolutely no way anyone can say that we are violating
WP:CIVIL. --TMF T - C
21:36, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I posted. I didn't mention maps since I don't follow those... --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 21:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
